First photo from Bond film 'Skyfall' released

The 007 Twitter account sent out this photo from the set of "Skyfall."

Last week, we told you that the next James Bond film, "Skyfall," was underway, with Daniel Craig back as the iconic spy and an unknown (and bland) someone tweeting as 007.

Much as we've encouraged that account to develop some personality, for the moment it is, as Movieline puts it, simply a Twitter account for James Bond marketing.

It did its job today, tweeting a photo of the first scene being filmed for the new film, which is actually scene 45 according to the slate. Peek around the slate and you can see one of those elegant, high-money locations for which the Bond series is noted -- wait, no you can't. You see a filthy bathroom. Let's hope Bond isn't lying on the floor with a "Saw"-like dilemma facing him -- didn't the original film in that series start in a dirty bathroom? And as anyone who's seen more than one action movie knows, bathrooms are always turning up as settings for fight scenes, what with faces getting slammed into mirrors or toilets and porcelain being cracked over heads.

Seriously, though, it's good just to know that the 007 series isn't dead, and we're happy to have another film with Craig coming our way. Had MGM's financial troubles meant the series remained on hold, it's possible Craig would have aged out of the role, and that would be disappointing indeed.

"Skyfall" will hit theaters in 2012. Between now and then, we're pretty sure some more elegant scenes will be shot.

Daniel Craig is one of the worst Bonds ever. Too bad they didn't stay with Pierce Brosnan for a few more movies! I even liked Timothy Dalton better than Craig.

By 2020, Bond will probably be trying to infiltrate the Republican Party, formerly known as SPECTRE

Actually Craig is what Fleming original wrote JB to be like, not the over the top cheese that filled the series from Moore to Brosnan

Personally I think Daniel Craig plays a great Bond. Unfortunately for Pierce Brosnan the script had way too many cheesy lines that made him look foolish as the Bond character. If the scripting was more to what Craig or Connery had in the past I think Brosnan would have shown better as this character.

This article is full of old information, useless speculation,  and an utterly pointless photo. The point of this seems to be so that some writer can say, "I sure am glad they're making another James Bond movie!"  Well, I'm glad they are too, but nobody's paying ME to say so!

Where do they find people to write this garbage?

Maybe you should ask Gael Fashingbauer Cooper where they found her, and who the hell "they" are?

P.S. They must have found her somewhere in Seattle. But how did they find her, why and who are "they"?

lol "They" are people who hire buddies and friends as well as other folks who lack talent. They are also the marketing gremlins, and yes, they have been known to hang out in Seattle and various other large cities around the country

Hey, Bond scriptors ----- Did I hear correctly that Bond has gone from the martini to BEER? Are you so desperate for money that you would be rid of the most iconic image of 007, trading it in for a commercial plug? For shame, Ms. B.. Ian and Cubby must be spinning in their graves. Your sellout of the Bond persona will be the death knell of the series. An institution fading to black. Sad.

Hey, Ms. Broccoli ----- Casting Craig was clearly a positive move. He is likely just the persona Ian Fleming had in mind when he first wrote of 007; a ruthless killer wearing a tailor made suit. After Connery, the character relied too much on gadgets and spoke some very un-Bond like lines. Yes, definitely a step in the right direction. HOWEVER --- to take away Bond's iconic drink and enjoining line is to completely turn away from the character. This obvious sellout to a beer is giving the series a serious shove down a slippery slope ! This move could most likely signal the end of James Bond as a serious character portrayal. You have done Ian Fleming and your father a most devastating disservice. Unless you can write in a way to explain the action (disguising Bond as someone else, etc.), The man as well as the series is done for. What a supreme price to pay for just how many dollars ? How sad for Ian, Cubby, yourself, and Daniel Craig as well as all of the legions of Bond fans.
