Hottest woman of all time! Jennifer Aniston?

Men's Health magazine has released its list of the hottest women of all time and Jennifer Aniston sits at number one out of 100 women chosen. Raquel Welch, Marilyn Monroe, Britney Spears and Madonna round out the top five.

Now, with all due respect to Aniston ... REALLY? All time? All hot women ... forever?

Mario Anzuoni / Reuters file

Forget hot or not. How about hottest of all time or not?

But I'm a girl and maybe that cancels out my vote in this matter. So in a quick email exchange with a guy who hasn't been shy about his allegiance to Team Jen in the past, I sought some answers.

Me: "Seriously? Jennifer Aniston?"

Guy: "At least two women mentioned in that story should beg to differ." (Attached to his response? Photos of Raquel Welch and Brigitte Bardot. Bardot made Aniston's top two, along with Gloria Steinem.)

The conversation could have gone on forever in a one-sided fashion as the guy displayed his proficiency with remembering pretty ladies from throughout history through the use of Google image search.

But you get it, right? When you're saying "all time" it seems someone who's proven to have some amount of timelessness should rise to the top.

And not for nothing, but even the commenters on the Men's Health site seem to be a little befuddled by the choice. So what do you think? Give us your all-time hottest or your top five or whatever you like in the comments. Or, by all means, defend Team Jen!

She's not even the hottest of the current lot. Ever seen Scarlett Johansson?

Scarlett's very pretty, but have you seen Amber Heard? I think she's even prettier.

What about Heather Locklear, Brooke Shields, and Denise Richards? I think they are pretty.

Absolutely not. Left field is calling, they want their choice back. Not only is she not that attractive, she's not that attractive. Plus "all time" usually means you're taking a broader time frame into account.

Some meaningful choices: Julia Roberts. Natalie Wood. Salma Hayek. Rita Hayworth. Jennifer Lopez.

Wow, haters! Geez, I hope Jen Aniston never sees this feed. She's beautiful inside and out--it's not all about looks, people. She's a charitable person, someone who has been in the spotlight for YEARS and never went off the bandwagon (Britney)...she just seems like an all around good person.

We're all a bunch of critics when we're sitting at home behind a computer screen. Try saying these things to her face, I bet you wouldn't.

Not saying she isn't beautiful. She's just not in the same league with some of the other mentioned women.

No offense to Jennifer, she's a very attractive woman but virtually every playmate of the month in the last 40 years is hotter than Jennifer.

I would be inclined to agree with the magazine. Being attractive isn't just about looks and body. It is character, mannerisms, behavior.

Jennifer Aniston looks and acts like the girl next door. The friend you have had since childhood. The neighbor down the street. She doesn't act snobbish. She doesn't pack on the makeup. She appears to dress normally. She doesn't act like she is trying too hard to be noticed.

She seems to be someone you could sit down with, talk to and not feel like you were wasting her time or that you were beneath her.

In other words, she has class. And that is very attractive and very rare in Hollywood these days.

She is cute at best. Her face is so masculine. Attraction is largely symbolic, so maybe men respond to her hair and her physic and maybe just the fact that she seems approachable because her looks are somewhat average. I think its more likely that she appeared on Friends and there is a generation of men that will remember that and only that. She looks quite masculine if you strip away the symbols of femininity, hair, clothes ect. She is not a great beauty by any stretch of the imagination, certainly not "of all time"

I agree with them. It's her attitude, and the dentist she played in horrible bosses shows just how freaky she can be...

I think Jennifer is very pretty and from what I've seen on TV in interviews etc she has a great personality. I think she has a very likeable and approachable way about her. I am actually happy to see that the guys polled picked a woman who is pretty common. But more women of color should have been on this list.

I'm sorry - but the only way to do this is to get empirical data - such as comparing core body temperatures

Other than the very posed photos of her, she's seems rather male-ish. Not attractive in my book.

As some have mentioned beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder, and the women all look better at closing time, and that's been a truism for many ages, among many sage's, weither the suasage they had was the best i never saw such a sage in my life or not, as to matoes and onions come in all flavors and sizes, and ye best know which your dealing with, when ya take them out or home, ect jff

Well, I'm a woman so my vote doesn't count but I think Halle Berry is just gorgeous. Jen is certainly very pretty as well but I wonder why Halle Berry would not be in the top 5. Madonna? Please....

Well, she's pretty darn hot. I'm a little too old for her, but I would love to be her neighbor, just so I could drop by occasionally to borrow a cup of sugar. Or a rake. Or some milk. Or a pinch of Oregano; green pepper; jumper cables; whatever.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Catherine Deneuve . . . my #1 pick. But I agree with those who mentioned Elizabeth Taylor, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Hedy Lamarr, Natalie Wood, etc. I'd also add Vivien Leigh to the list. As for Jennifer Aniston . . . attractive, yes. Beautiful, no. But I don't mean to take anything away from her. As for putting Madonna and Britney Spears at the top of the list . . . I've got to wonder what they were smoking . . . or else they'd been away from ALL women for 10 years, and anything would look good to them.

In order to have an "...of all time." list, you need to include people who will be remembered after the height of thier popularity. No one will ever forget who Marylin Monroe or Rachel Welch was/is, but the sure as hec won't know who Jennifer Aniston was 75 years from now....

Circa 2078: "What?! You don't remebmer Jennifer Aniston? Come on... she was that pretty girl on that funny show...oh what was its name...Well, I can't remember right now, but she was the pretty one."

Sorry, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! This is absolutely the biggest joke, or hoax OF ALL TIME! Someone skewed this vote just to give poor, pathetic Jennifer an ego boost. The girl is totally out of her league here. Not to mention that she has such a long, pointed chin, I don't see how anyone could find her hot. Without her nose job and her bleached-streaked hair, she would be absolutely ordinary and no one would give her a second look. And her "little girl" flat figure - there's absolutely nothing sexy or hot about that at all. Hot means sexy curves.

Lets put a frying pan on top of her, and then see how hot she is, or ask Reese Whitherspoon, maybe she can give a much better temperature reading, lol.

I don't know if Anniston is the hottest of all time, but of all of Brad Pitt's wives, Jolie is certainly the skankiest looking.

The thing is Bardot, Welch, Monroe, etc are women from the past! Some dead! The men being asked?? Men in their 30's who have not watched them in movies, all over print/internet/tv solid for 15 years! Everyone knows this woman's experiences and being the jilted woman so the men take pity on her.

I think a lot has to do with she is also very familiar to them so their is a comfort factor! Sure she is pretty. In great shape, but anyway, I defer to my earlier reasons as to why she probably won..
