You can blame that p.....ck Bobby Brown for her death.
"Count On Me" has my vote as her best song.
We all fall short .I'm glad we're saved by God's mercy and not our works. He judges the heart and I pray that little lady is singing with the angels tonight with no more fear, sorrow or pain.
One Moment in Time is my favorite song by her but Greatest Love of All, I Will Always Love You, and It's Not Right, But It's Okay are close follow ups.
Count on Me, a duet she does with CeCe Winans is one of my favorites...
I will never forget her.
"I Know Him So Well" - with her mother Cissy Houston.
What a shock! How very sad for her family and friends - and everyone - to lose such an incredible talent. Up there in the top 1% of women vocalists! I am heartbroken. I truly hope she is now at peace.
I Will Always Love You - definitely her best ever....
I still get chills when I hear "One Moment in Time". If that song doesn't give the true essence of the Olympics, I don't know what does.
RIP, Whitney.
When I heard this a few hours ago, I was so sure it was one of those death rumors that turns out to be a hoax. I hope this serves as a warning to everyone that drugs are bad. She could have been as successful and as loved as her godmother, Aretha Franklin, but she was too easily influenced by a bad influence and lost her soul and now, her life. Her voice will live on forever through her songs and her daughter. May she rest in peace.
A light that burns brightly may not burn for long. We all are so sorry.
I really can't choose just one song. Her body of work is so tremendous. This I will say, however. Her rendition of the national anthem is surely my favorite version of that song. Just hearing it gives me chills. I'm so saddened by her passing. My prayer is that she be at peace and that family, friends and fans remember and respect all the great music she blessed the world with. Much love. Listening right now to a song from Bodyguard - I Have Nothing If I Don't Have You". Just an amazing song that totally blew me away the first time I heard it.
R.I.P. We Will Always Love You
She is a beautiful heart with God now.
I have to vote for "One Moment in Time." I remember after the space shuttle Challenger tragedy in 1986, they would play that song on the radio with sound clips of the crew's voices just after takeoff dubbed in. I was only 12 years old, but it was so touching...made me cry every time it came on the radio.
I remember the first time I saw her in concert. In Philly we have a concert hall named the Valley Forge Music Fair and it was the summer of '85. She was the opening act for Jeffery Osbourne and when I saw her I fell immediately in love with her and her talent and how much she seem to be in touch with the audience.
Being a minister now and recovered drug and alcohol addict, I know the trouble of staying focus and clean. I can only image the things she had to go through. I watched her and thought that if she could ever re-connect spiritually then she would fine and regain her positive image.
She will be very missed.
