Amanda Bynes shaves half of her head

    By Drusilla Moorhouse, TODAY contributor

Amanda Bynes' bizarre behavior (don't call it erratic!) has been tabloid fodder for years now, and the former child star has been fanning the flames on her personal Twitter account.

I buzzed half my head like @cassie! No more old photos! This is the new me! I love it! twitpic.com/clx36u

    — Amanda Bynes (@AmandaBynes) April 25, 2013

Her hair has been the subject of many rants, including an early April gripe that a salon damaged her locks so badly that she had to shave her head.

She proved she did just that on Thursday, showing off her buzzed scalp in a series of selfies.

"I buzzed half my head like (pop star Cassie)!" she tweeted, along with a grinning emoticon.

The 27-year-old starlet didn't go full Britney -- can anyone forget Spears' 2007 meltdown in a Tarzana hair salon? Blond, wavy locks still cascade from the crown of Bynes' head.

"This is the new me!" Bynes added. "I love it!"

Amanda Bynes: Not naked in public, says tanning salon CEO

    By Us Weekly

The truth has set Amanda Bynes free. A recent In Touch magazine article claimed the "What I Like About You" actress looked "painfully thin" and "seemed totally out of it" while visiting a New York City area tanning salon. The tabloid also reported Bynes paraded around the facility without any clothes on. "She didn't seem to care that everyone saw her naked," according to an alleged witness.

Bynes denied the story Nov. 1, telling Us Weekly exclusively, "I'm suing In Touch for printing a fake story. I'm not 'troubled.' I don't get naked in public. I'm 26, a multi-millionaire, retired. Please respect my privacy."

Beach Bum Tanning CEO James Oliver is standing by Bynes' denial. "Employee testimony and security footage have confirmed that Ms. Bynes was not acting inappropriately," he tells Us in a statement. "She is a long-time client and we stand by her account."

Unfortunately, Bynes' headline-making days are far from over. In late September, the "Easy A" star pleaded not guilty to two separate counts of hit-and-run driving; if convicted, she could face up to a year in jail. She is also facing one DUI charge and two charges of driving on a suspended license.

Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes teach driver's ed in parody video

    By Courtney Garcia, TODAY
It may seem like Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes will never learn their lessons when it comes to motor vehicle safety, but in a new parody video, they teach a hilarious version of driver’s education.

The video, “Lindsay Lohan & Amanda Bynes -- Drunk Drivers Ed!,” was posted to YouTube on Saturday, and has amassed over 250,000 hits. It was inspired by the continuous problems the two actresses have (literally) run into on the road.

“Hi, I’m Lindsay Lohan, and I’m Amanda Bynes –- this is our court-mandated driver’s safety video,” actresses playing the two actresses announce at the beginning of the sketch before they quickly begin to bicker.

“I am famouser than you,” Lohan then informs Bynes.

The video, made by Barely Political, a creative company producing online comedy sketches and song parodies, features the women discussing various road dangers, including "forgetting that you're driving," "policemen cars" and "Twitter."

“A lot of people ask why we would be qualified to talk about vehicular cancer….er, safety,” Bynes notes, and Lohan adds, “But we know firsthand everything that can go wrong behind the wheel of a car…We’ve been there.”

And then, of course, they proceed to get behind the wheel.

“All cars have a starter straw located in your dashboard,” Bynes says, referring to a car breathalyzer test.

“Sometimes my car won’t start when I blow into it,” Lohan points out, and Bynes agrees, asking a teenager standing nearby to help her out.

“I always have to get a child or an old to do it,” she comments.

In September, Lohan, 26, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident after allegedly clipping a pedestrian in New York City, and in June, she was involved in a crash in California that sent her and her assistant to the hospital. She was also arrested on DUI charges in 2007 and 2010.

As for Bynes, the 26-year-old pled not guilty in court on Sept. 27 to two misdemeanor hit-and-run charges occurring in April and August, and was also arrested in April on suspicion of a DUI. Her license was suspended officially on Aug. 25, the L.A. Times reports.

“Sirens are another distraction of the road, they can be really hard to ignore,” says the actress playing Bynes as they prepare to get pulled over again. “I just drown them out by turning up my radio really loud.”

Goodyear offers free driving lessons to Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes

Amanda Bynes and Lindsay Lohan have been offered driving lessons by Goodyear.

    By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, TODAY
Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Bynes seem to constantly be in trouble for their behind-the-wheel activities. Lohan may or may not have hit a pedestrian with her Porsche SUV in New York early Wednesday, and Bynes was ordered by a judge not to drive after multiple incidents.

So tire maker Goodyear has decided to offer the actresses some assistance. They've sent letters to both women offering them free trips to the company's Ohio headquarters for a private safe driving lesson with a Goodyear professional driver at the company's track. ("No paparazzi allowed!" chirps the letter.)

The letter, signed by a company vice-president, mentions that Lohan and Bynes have "struggled behind the wheel before" and note that "driving can be a real challenge." The letter also pitches Goodyear tires and dealers, of course.

Lohan's letter, as shown on the site of Ohio TV station WEWS, even gets in a mention of her role in 2005's "Herbie: Fully Loaded," joking that she'll soon "be able to show even Herbie the Lovebug a thing or too." WEWS reports that Bynes' letter refers to her role in 1990s hit "All That," saying, "It’s okay -- not all of us can be all that on the road."

If the women aren't willing to fly to Ohio for their lessons, Goodyear also offers to send a professional driver to them. No word on whether the actresses will take the company up on the offer. Perhaps they should just hire chauffeurs.
