Ashton Kutcher's Steve Jobs transformation on display in new trailer

    By Courtney Hazlett, NBC News

The Steve Jobs biopic "jOBS" is set for theatrical release this spring, but some attendees of the Sundance Film Festival will get an early glimpse of the film when it premieres to close out the festival Friday night. Below, a newly released trailer for "jOBS," which also features Josh Gad as fellow Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

    Watch on YouTube

The clip serves at least one purpose: it proves Ashton Kutcher definitely looks the part of the enigmatic Apple icon. His physical resemblance to Jobs is spot-on, but does he pull off a complete Jobs transformation? It's tough not to hear a little Michael Kelso from his "That '70s Show" days, but it's difficult to judge from less than a minute of film footage.

"jOBS" will hit theaters April 19.

Does the film seem promising to you? Take it on over to Facebook to discuss.

Ashton Kutcher files for divorce from Demi Moore

    By Reuters

"Two and a Half Men" star Ashton Kutcher filed for divorce from actress wife Demi Moore on Friday in Los Angeles, following more than a year of separation, according to court documents.

Kutcher, 34, cited irreconcilable differences in divorce papers filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, adding that he is not seeking spousal support or denying support to Moore.

Moore, 50, and Kutcher separated in November 2011 after six years of marriage, after a San Diego woman said she had had a brief affair with Kutcher.

Kutcher hired high-powered celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, according to the initial filing.

Representatives for Kutcher and Moore did not return Reuters' calls for comments.

Moore began dating Kutcher a few years after her split from actor husband Bruce Willis, when Kutcher was a young star on the TV sitcom "That '70s Show." Their relationship became tabloid fodder due to their 16-year age gap, and the couple married in September 2005 in Los Angeles.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton," Moore said in a statement at the time of their split.

"As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life," the statement said.

Kutcher is currently dating his former "That '70s Show" cast-mate Mila Kunis.

Think alike! Ashton Kutcher looks eerily like Steve Jobs in new film

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, NBC News

The nice thing about playing a tech billionaire in movies? You don't exactly have major costume demands. Just ask Jesse Eisenberg, who played Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg in "The Social Network," and almost always wore a hoodie onscreen.

    Corbis file, Sundance Institute

Steve Jobs circa 1981 or 1982 is shown at left, and Ashton Kutcher, playing Jobs, is shown at right.

Now Ashton Kutcher is enjoying the same mellow dress code as he plays Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. A photo released by the Sundance Institute for the upcoming film "jOBS" (capitalization theirs, reportedly to play off the titles of products such as Apple's iMac and iPad) shows Kutcher, in jeans and a casual shirt, perched on a desk with a retro computer behind him.

The film's photo was staged to resemble a real 1981 or 1982 photo of Jobs, and it's pretty spot on.

And speaking of accuracy, filming for the movie began in June at Jobs' actual childhood home, including scenes shot in the garage where Jobs and Steve Wozniak founded Apple.

'jOBS" will close the Sundance Film Festival in January, according to The Hollywood Reporter. No theatrical release date has been announced.

Mila Kunis calls Ashton Kutcher dating rumors 'absurd'

    Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher.

    By Bruna Nessif, E! Online

So much for Jackie and Michael getting back together again. Rumors of longtime friends Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis being an item started swirling last week, but as much as it would have been cute to see a "That 70's Show" relationship come to reality, it's not happening.

MORE: Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis: New Couple Alert?

Kunis shoots down the idea, telling Extra, "It's absurd! A friend is a friend."

Yes, and as friends, they do things like taking a trip to Santa Barbara, having a sushi dinner and enjoying a rumored night in at Kutcher's pad.

A source close to Demi Moore's ex tells People, "They're both single, having fun. There's nothing serious going on--just friends having fun." Another source tells the mag that Ashton was, "so in love with [Mila] for a while when they worked together...It never happened, but I'm not surprised by this--at all."

But they're just friends, you guys, so stop getting your hopes up.

Miranda Lambert slams Ashton Kutcher for mocking country music at ACMs

    Ethan Miller / Getty Images

Ashton Kutcher at the 47th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards on April 1.

    By Us Weekly

Ashton Kutcher's no king of country.

The recently separated "Two and a Half Men" star, 34, was one of the unexpected infiltrators at Sunday's Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas. To present the Female Vocalist of the Year award, the star wore a ten-gallon hat and over-the-top county western garb -- and sang some excruciating bars of George Strait's "I Cross My Heart" before handing over the trophy to Miranda Lambert.

PHOTOS: What all the stars wore at the ACMs 2012

Upon reflection, Lambert herself wasn't amused by Kutcher's schtick. The star, 28, tweeted late Monday: "Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?"

    Follow @ msnbc_ent

Fellow country singer Justin Moore was more direct -- and visceral. In the audience at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, he tweeted, "Seen Ashton kutcher at the acms tonight. What a douche! I don't care for people making a mockery of the way country artists' dress."

    PHOTOS: Bitter celeb feuds

Indeed, there was no love lost between Kutcher and most of the crowd during the show and at an afterparty, insiders reveal to Us.

"People were just like 'why is he here?' -- he has nothing to do with country," one attendee told Us "Nobody laughed at his dumb jokes, in fact he came off as rude. He didn't mingle."

    Watch on YouTube

A second source adds that Kutcher walked around the bash "with a massive posse" and "stayed in that dumb outfit for the after party."

PHOTOS: How Demi Moore said goodbye to Ashton

At the afterparty, Moore "was so heated over Ashton" and was "bitching about him" with Lambert's husband and show host Blake Shelton, the source says.

Ashton Kutcher to play Apple founder Steve Jobs in film

    By Tierney Bricker, E! Online

Noel Vasquez / Getty Images file

From replacing one of TV's most infamous "Men" to portraying one of the business world's most famous men, Ashton Kutcher can seemingly do it all!

The "Two and a Half Men" star is set to play Steve Jobs in an indie biopic titled Jobs, Variety reports. And while the actor is well-known for his Twitter activity, no one can deny that he also bears an uncanny resemblance with the late Apple founder, too.

So what is the film about? And does this mean Kutcher is dunzo with "Two and a Half Men"?

MORE: Two and a Half Men: Ashton Close to Signing Multi-Million Dollar Deal!

The film will follow Jobs on his journey from "wayward hippie" to cofounder of Apple and one of the most respected and powerful entrepreneurs in the business and technological world. Jobs passed away last October.

The film will be based on the best-selling, authorized bio of Jobs by Walter Isaacson.

While he has yet to sign a deal for another season, sources tell E! that Kutcher will most likely return to "Two and a Half Men" for another year. Kutcher would film Jobs while on hiatus from the CBS comedy in May.

Ashton Kutcher set for space trip

    Noel Vasquez / Getty Images

Ashton Kutcher, seen here at a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game in February, is the 500th customer to sign up for a Virgin Galactic suborbital spaceflight.

By Alan Boyle, Science Editor, NBC News

    Follow @b0yle

Virgin Galactic says uber-celebrity Ashton Kutcher is the company's 500th customer to sign up for a suborbital trip into outer space.

"I gave Ashton a quick call to congratulate and welcome him," Virgin Galactic's billionaire founder, Richard Branson, said today in a blog post announcing that Kutcher was coming on board. "He is as thrilled as we are at the prospect of being among the first to cross the final frontier (and back!) with us and to experience the magic of space for himself."

Kutcher, who got his start in television on "That '70s Show" and is now one of the stars of the highly rated sitcom "Two and a Half Men," is said to have a net worth of around $140 million. So the $200,000 fare for a ride on Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo rocket plane, also known as the VSS Enterprise, shouldn't break the bank. He's as well-known for his online presence (with 9.8 million Twitter followers) and his gossip-column appeal (due to last year's breakup with Demi Moore) as he is for his filmography.

All this makes him arguably the highest-profile prospective spaceflier confirmed to be on Virgin Galactic's list — although Tom Hanks, Katy Perry, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly on the list as well. Beyonce and Jay-Z are among other celebs considering a flight. The stars are reportedly all paying their own way, except for physicist Stephen Hawking, who is receiving a free ride courtesy of Branson.

For Stephen Attenborough, Virgin Galactic's commercial director, getting to the 500-passenger point is as big a milestone as getting Ashton Kutcher to sign on. "It's great to get to No. 500," he told me.

It's way too early to put Kutcher's flight on the calendar. SpaceShipTwo is still in the midst of free-glide flight tests, with rocket-powered test flights expected to begin this year. Last year, Branson said he was holding out hope that he and members of his family will be able to take a ride into space as this year's Christmas present. That suggests 2013 could mark the start of commercial service, although Virgin Galactic and its partners at California-based Scaled Composites say the schedule is totally dependent on the outcome of tests at the Mojave Air and Space Port.

In Virgin Galactic's latest showreel, British billionaire Richard Branson talks about the genesis of the company, recent progress and what lies ahead.

    Watch on YouTube

The current plan calls for commercial flight operations to be based at Spaceport America in New Mexico. SpaceShipTwo, which is capable of carrying six passengers and two pilots, would be linked up to its wide-winged WhiteKnightTwo carrier airplane and brought up to an altitude of 50,000 feet. At that height, SpaceShipTwo would drop from its mothership and turn on its hybrid rocket engine. The blast would take the craft beyond 62 miles (100 kilometers), the internationally accepted boundary of outer space — a commanding height from which Kutcher and his fellow passengers could see the arc of planet Earth and the dark sky of space above.

There'd be a few minutes of weightlessness, and then the passengers would return to their seats for the descent. After weathering up to 6 G's of acceleration, the fliers would glide down to the landing — and get their astronaut wings back at Spaceport America.

Attenborough said Virgin Galactic is already giving a lot of thought to determining who would fly when. One of the factors in the formula would give priority to customers "roughly in the order that they signed up," he said, but the schedulers also would consider customer preferences and the possibility of achieving firsts in spaceflight (for example, ahem, first prime-time TV star in space). "We're expecting to be able to keep everyone happy," Attenborough told me.

How long do you think it'll be before Kutcher is clicking his camera on the final frontier? And do you suppose there'll be a deal to document everything for reality TV? Feel free to weigh in with your comments below.

    Demi Moore, Ashton Kutcher split

    Andrew Gombert / EPA

It's over for Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher.

    By The Associated Press

Demi Moore is ending her marriage to fellow actor Ashton Kutcher, she told The Associated Press on Thursday. Moore, 49, and Kutcher, 33, were wed in September 2005. The couple's relationship became tabloid fodder in recent months as rumors swirled about Kutcher's alleged infidelity.

"It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have decided to end my six-year marriage to Ashton. As a woman, a mother and a wife there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life. This is a trying time for me and my family, and so I would ask for the same compassion and privacy that you would give to anyone going through a similar situation," Moore said in a statement to the AP.

The pair frequently used Twitter to communicate with each other as millions of fans followed along.

"I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," Kutcher tweeted Thursday. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Moore said in 2007 that her May-December relationship with the star of "That '70s Show" and "Punk'd" — who is 15 years younger than Moore — "caught us both by surprise."

"If somebody would have said, 'OK, here is the prediction: You're going to meet a man 25 years old and he's going to see being with you and having your three kids as a bonus,' I would have said, 'Keep dreaming,'" Moore said in a 2007 interview with Vanity Fair. "I think it caught us both by surprise, and particularly him."

Kutcher became a stepfather to Moore's three daughters — Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Belle — from her 13-year marriage to actor Bruce Willis. Moore and Willis divorced in 2000 but remained friendly. Moore and Kutcher were photographed socializing with Willis, and the couple attended Willis' wedding to model-actress Emma Heming in 2009.

Moore and Kutcher created the DNA Foundation, also known as the Demi and Ashton Foundation, in 2010 to combat the organized sexual exploitation of girls around the globe. They later lent their support to the United Nations' efforts to fight human trafficking, a scourge the international organization estimates affects about 2.5 million people worldwide.

Moore can be seen on screen in the recent films "Margin Call" and "Another Happy Day." Kutcher replaced Charlie Sheen on TV's "Two and a Half Men" as is part of the ensemble film "New Year's Eve," set for release next month.

Kutcher's Penn State tweet angers fans

    Kevin Winter / Getty Images

Ashton Kutcher's tweet about Coach Joe Paterno's firing was not well-received by the Twitter community.

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, NBC News

The Penn State scandal has been all over the news, and so to many, the firing last night of longtime coach Joe Paterno came as no surprise.

Ashton Kutcher apparently hasn't been paying attention. And when you have nearly 8 and a half million followers, you need to know what's going on. Wednesday night, Kutcher tweeted "How do you fire Jo Pa?  #insult #noclass as a hawkeye fan I find it in poor taste."

And then the fans pushed back. Reaction was immediate and angry.

"How do you bang skanks on your wedding anniversary?" Texan Jenny Johnson retorted, referring of course to the tabloid reports of Kutcher's supposed extramarital activities.

Some had fun mocking the actor by mimicking the tweet. A user named Uncle Dynamite tweeted "Charles Manson didn't make parole AGAIN??!! And he was informed by REGISTERED MAIL??!! #insult @noclass."

Justin Stangel, head writer and executive producer for the "Late Show with David Letterman,"addressed Kutcher's work with the Demi and Ashton Foundation, which seeks to help end child sex slavery. "Tell me if I'm right," Stangel tweeted at Kutcher. "You're against child trafficking unless it's with college football staff."

Kutcher removed the tweet about a half-hour after he sent it, but of course the damage was done. He's apologized, however, posting that "As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case."

He also wrote, "As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again."

Some fans urged forgiveness for the actor's remark. Said one fan, the colorfully named Spazzberry103, "Everyone puts their foot in their mouth once in a while. Just have to pull it out and start walking forward again. Still luv ya!!"

Update: Kutcher issued an even longer apology on Thursday, saying Twitter had changed from when he first began using it, turning from a real-time conversation to a mass-publishing platform. He also elaborated on his Paterno tweet, saying he sent his comment based solely on a headline he saw on TV, writing "I assumed that the universiry had let him go due to football-related issues."

It's unclear how Kutcher was able to completely miss coverage of the headline-dominating scandal until then, or why, upon seeing a headline, leapt to an assumption and decided to tweet about it without any additional information, but he's obviously regretting it now.

Kutcher writes that an hour after he sent the tweet, he found out about the scandal via ESPN and then went back and saw all the angry responses to his message. "A collection of over 8 million followers is not to be taken for granted,
he writes.  "I feel responsible for delivering an informed opinion and not spreading gossip or rumors through my twitter feed."

So now the unvarnished Kutcherisms that have both landed him in some hot water and entertained many will be neutered, as the actor is turning the feed over to his representatives to apparently censor and spin.

"While I will continue to express myself through @Aplusk I'm going to turn the management of the feed over to my team at Katalyst Media to ensure the quality of its content," he writes.  My sincere apologies to anyone who I offended."
