Quvenzhané Wallis' red carpet charm? A puppy purse

Too cute? Best Actress nominee Quvenzhané Wallis arrives on the red carpet for the 85th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24.

    By Rina Raphael, TODAY

You gotta hand it to Quvenzhané Wallis – the youngest Oscar nominee isn't carrying Chanel or Dior at Sunday night's Oscars, but rather, a stuffed animal.

The 9-year-old star of the nominated fantasy drama "Beasts of the Southern Wild" hit the red carpet carrying a plush pooch purse decked out in a tiara, the latest in a long series of stuffed animal bags she's been spotted with throughout this awards season. And they're not just for show: the actress told Ellen Degeneres she carries the puppy purses for good luck (a little more animal-friendly than a rabbit's foot). Take a look at the budding fashionista's playful accessories:

When it comes to the Screen Actors Guild Awards, it’s all about Hollywood’s brightest honoring their own. And on Sunday night, red-carpet veterans such as Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts shared the spotlight with newcomers including Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried. We took a look at all the celebs on the red carpet, but only a few left us impressed. Which star had the best style? Check out our favorites below and cast your vote!

Where's Jennifer Lawrence? She looked great. Besides Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts looked terrific as did Claire Danes. Jane Lynch, January Jones, Julianne Moore and Michelle Dockery need new stylists. (However, I love Julianne Moore so I'm going to forgive her this time.)

'Jolie-ing': Showing some leg now a red carpet tradition

    Getty Images, Reuters

Spotted on the Golden Globes red carpet: Jolie-inspired poses.

    By Rina Raphael, TODAY

Look what you've done, Angelina Jolie. Look what you've done.

After the actress dramatically showed off her gams at the 2012 Academy Awards, a bold move that consequently launched a thousand memes, it seems the bare leg trend is here to stay.

On the Golden Globes red carpet on Sunday, more than one celebrity was spotted "Jolie-ing" it up to the crowd. Not with the same oopmph or bravado as Jolie, but hey, you gotta give a sister credit for trying.

Check out the image above. Think you have an idea who might do such a thing? Can you pair the leg with it's A-list owner?

We'll give you one more minute to make your guesses.

    OK, ready?

    The guilty culprits are...

Halle Berry, Eva Longoria, and Heidi Klum.

Calvin Klein releases $5,000 Katniss-inspired dress

Calvin Klein, inspired by Katniss' dress from The Hunger Games, designed a rather pricey frock.

    By InStyle.com

Francisco Costa must be a "Hunger Games" fan! The Calvin Klein creative director, who designed Jennifer Lawrence’s plunging green shift for the film’s New York premiere, just released a dress named for her character, Katniss Everdeen. While the apricot silk crepe design reflects Katniss’s streamlined style, its $5,000 price tag is more Capitol than District 12. Shop the look at net-a-porter.com, and see more Katniss-inspired fashions with a lower price tag in the gallery.

'Snow White' mania inspires fashion, beauty lines

    Universal Pictures

Kristen Stewart, star of Snow White and the Huntsman, embodies the fairy tale's aesthetic. She's certainly had practice, playing a vampire in the Twilight saga series.

    By Rina Raphael, TODAY

Skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood and collaborations as good as sold.

The Snow White obsession has extended beyond the two competing movies out this season – and into your fashion and beauty regimen.

The upcoming dark fairy tale thriller “Snow White and the Huntsman” (not to be confused with the softer, kiddie-friendly “Mirror Mirror”) has partnered with designers on a few collections this spring, including a 200-piece (yes, 200!) line for the Home Shopping Network. Evil queen nail polish by Deborah Lippmann? Crystal-studded poison apple? The dwarves were hard at work on this one.

Included is everything from shiny brooches bearing the film’s key imagery to antique-inspired necklaces, ranging from $24-$450. Available May 30 on HSN.com, it might sound a little cheesy — and granted, movie collaborations generally are — but HSN did a solid job rounding up items that are both in theme and fashionable:

In addition, Benefit Cosmetics put together a special limited-edition makeup set titled “Rare Beauty” (available Apr. 17) featuring bestsellers that the pale heroine herself would have appreciated: Benetint rose-tinted lip and cheek stain, BADgal lash mascara, High Beam Deluxe highlighter and the Porefessional skin smoother ($45 for a $69 value).

No need to worship the sun this summer; the Snow White’s porcelain look is in.

    Benefit Cosmetics

The Rare Beauty kit by Benefit Cosmetics comes with 4 makeup items and a print design bag. No apples.

    Universal Pictures

Kristen Stewart as a poisoned Snow White, in much need of some lipstick and blush.

Who wore it best? Vote for your favorite Oscars red carpet look

Actresses Jessica Chastain, Gwyneth Paltrow and Michelle Williams at the 84th annual Academy Awards.

It's only the most important honor of the night: Who wore it best on the red carpet.

After an evening filled with many white, sequined and red gowns, TODAY style editor Bobbie Thomas narrowed down the fashionable competition with her top picks.

Check out Angelina Jolie, Michelle Williams, and more A-list celebrities who dazzled in glamorous gowns.

And at the bottom of this post, vote for your favorite ... or name someone else who you liked better in the comments. (Was Miss Piggy snubbed? Let us know!)

    Michael Buckner / Getty Images

Jessica Chastain's custom Alexander McQueen bustier gown complemented her fair skin and red hair in a beautifully dark and dramatic way.

    Michael Buckner / Getty Images

Gwyneth Paltrow, in Tom Ford, proved less is more in a sleek, striking silhouette. Could be my favorite of the night.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Michelle Williams stayed true to her personal style, but turned up the volume in a bright coral Louis Vuitton peplum dress.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Confident and glowing, Octavia Spencer shined in her designer of choice, Tadashi Shoji.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Penelope Cruz graced the carpet in a Giorgio Armani ball gown, perfectly suited for a fairy tale.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Cameron Diaz's Gucci gown was both expected and exceptional — a bit safe for a fashion-savvy gal.

    Michael Buckner / Getty Images

Natalie Portman, in vintage Christian Dior, dared to wear a polka dot print dress on the carpet. Marvelous or Minnie Mouse?

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Emma Stone wooed fashionistas in a Giambattista Valli, reminiscent of a past Nicole Kidman look, but the oversized bow may have been overwhelming.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Polished and pretty, Melissa McCarthy looked lovely in a soft rose Marina Rinaldi gown.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Golden girl Meryl Streep took a risk in a reflective, metallic Lanvin draped dress.

    Michael Buckner / Getty Images

Sandra Bullock said she was feeling "sexy" in her slinky black and white Marchesa. It's a fun, fashion-forward look.

    Jason Merritt / Getty Images

Stunning Angelina Jolie stepped out, literally, in her thigh-high slit Versace Atelier. But she failed to top her Golden Globes gown (also Versace).

What do you think of the gowns? Keep up with TODAY style editor Bobbie Thomas at @bobbiethomas and share your favorite looks on Facebook.
