James Van Der Beek gives wolf pee to 'Don't Trust the B' co-star

    Anderson Live

Anderson Cooper takes a sniff of Krysten Ritter's jar of wolf urine.

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

It's not unusual for friendly co-workers to give each other gifts, but the one that "Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23" star James Van Der Beek gave to co-star Krysten Ritter may have been a little ... weird.

During her appearance on "Anderson Live" Monday, the actress, who plays Chloe, told host Anderson Cooper that the former "Dawson's Creek" star was "heaven." She explained that the actor, knowing she has a small dog and lives in an area of Los Angeles that has plenty of coyotes, decided to give her a present to help with the issue.

"He umm ... he gave me a really uhh ... sick and perverted -- but amazing -- gift," Ritter started. "It's a jar of wolf urine. ... Somehow, James knew that if you sprinkle wolf urine outside of your house, it keeps the coyotes away. So he gave me this amazing gift."

Cooper wanted to know how Van Der Beek had collected the "gift," but Ritter had no idea. What she did have, though, was the jar it came in. Seeing that the container was empty (she used the contents!), Cooper opened it up and took a whiff. Check out his reaction:
