'Teen Mom' Farrah Abraham downplays DUI arrest: 'I was sick'

    MTV

    Farrah Abraham of "Teen Mom."

    By Drusilla Moorhouse, TODAY contributor

"Teen Mom" star Farrah Abraham's recent DUI arrest was totally not her fault, you guys.

In a new In Touch interview, the best-selling author (what, you haven't bought "Passy Perfume" yet?) blames her St. Patrick's Day bust on 1) her sister, 2) boredom, 3) being sick and 4) super irritating cops.

"I did not plan to drink because I was sick, so I took the role of being in charge and making sure my sister and I would return home together and safely," she told the tabloid. "At 10 p.m., I tried to leave, and at that time, my sister was not ready to leave, so I had been sipping on drinks to pass the time."

That must have been quite a wait and a lot of sips, because Farrah registered a blood alcohol level of .147 -- nearly twice the legal limit.

Also, instead of nearly hitting a police cruiser as has been reported, the 21-year-old single mom insists she was merely parking her own car.

"When I was parked, a police officer asked me what I was doing, so I told him I was worried about my sister and I was trying to go home," Farrah told In Touch. "They insisted on the regular questions and asked me to get out of the car. I got out of the car, and because I was upset, I yelled."

(It should be noted that the "Teen Mom" star has a healthy disrespect for other people's eardrums even when she's sober.)

However, a source close to the situation told us that Farrah's version of the night's events is actually far from the truth. Despite Farrah's claim that it was her sister and friends who wanted to stay late and drink, the source said that Farrah's companions were actually already back home by the time Farrah was arrested!

"She can say what she wants, but the truth is that her sister Ashley and her friends were miles away by the time Farrah got arrested," said the source. "A friend of Farrah's offered to give her a ride home before they left, but Farrah didn't take it."

On top of that, the source said that several local businesses were offering free cab rides all night to ensure St. Patty's Day partiers made it home safely, something Farrah was well aware of and declined to utilize.

Farrah also disputed the accuracy of the breathalyzer results and accounts that she sabotaged the test by biting on the tube.

"Because I'm sick, I could not give an accurate breathalyzer test, due to coughing and shortage of breath," she told In Touch. "I have a lawyer and all will work out with my ticket."

Farrah's no stranger to the legal system. Both of her parents, who guested on "Teen Mom" alongside their daughter, have also been arrested in the past: her father for threatening her baby daddy with a knife, and her mom for choking Farrah during an argument over babysitting.

Exclusive sneak peek: 'D.U.I.' suspect started using meth at the age of 11

    TLC

Chantel reveals shocking details about her past drug use on TLC's "D.U.I."

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

When "D.U.I." returns to TLC on Thursday night, viewers will see a 22-year-old woman arrested for much more than just driving under the influence. Chantel's charges also include possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of drugs -- marijuana and methamphetamines -- and possession of drug paraphernalia. But the crimes she's accused of committing aren't nearly as surprising as what she's already been through.

An exclusive sneak peek of the episode reveals that Chantel's troubles began long before the felony charges.

"I was 11 and I used meth for the first time, and my mom, she smoked it too," Chantel, who's now a mother herself, confessed. "I felt like I couldn't connect with anybody in school. I mean, I was snorting lines in the bathroom, and they were snorting Pixy Stix."

That drug use at such a remarkably young age was hardly an isolated incident for Chantel. In fact, it wasn't long before she suffered major physical repercussions from her addiction to methamphetamines.

"I had completely, like, destroyed my kidneys and liver by the time I was 14," she explained. "Everyone in my neighborhood knows me, and they all know that my mom is a junkie. And they all see me the same way, I guess."

See if Chantel's recent brush with the law and the fallout from it inspire her to make changes for her and her own child when "D.U.I." returns to TLC on June 28 at 10 p.m. ET.

'D.U.I.' sneak peek: Pizza delivery guy gets busted for marijuana and more

    TLC

A pizza delivery guy gets busted on the next episode of "D.U.I."

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

If endless hours of watching true-crime TV shows have taught viewers anything, it's that suspects almost always lie about their illegal activities when confronted by law enforcement and camera crews. That's what makes a sneak peek for the return of TLC's "D.U.I." all the more interesting.

In it, Paul, a mild-mannered -- really mild-mannered -- pizza delivery guy who was pulled over for speeding through a residential neighborhood, makes no attempt to conceal his drug use. Well, at least not at first.

After an officer noticed Paul's collection of bumper stickers -- which included the classics "How's my driving? Call 1-800-EAT (expletive)" and "Drugs lead to nowhere, but it's the scenic route" -- the lawman wanted to know if Paul actually was on drugs. The man behind the wheel didn't flinch.

"Yeah, I'm not gonna lie," he said. "I smoke it."

    "It" being marijuana.

"I smoked a pinch-hit at my house before I left for work," Paul offered up with no resistance.

His reason for the pre-work smoke out? "Um ... It's just stress and stuff," he said.

But Paul soon had more to stress about than his pizza route, as the officer discovered marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a gun in the delivery guy's SUV -- and of course a perfectly legal pizza too. That's when Paul dropped the open-book approach and stopped being so cooperative.

Yes, it seems despite all of his earlier admissions, Paul didn't want to have anything to do with the hard evidence. The drugs? That belonged to a friend, of course -- same for a marijuana-covered scale. And the pipe in his very own pocket? Well, he had no idea how that even got there.

"I thought it was my phone," he insisted. "It's not mine, honestly."

See how far those excuses get him when "D.U.I." returns to TLC for a new season of busts on June 28.

Will you tune in to see more of Paul's not-so-fast thinking? Tell us on our Facebook page.

Exclusive: Man faces huge bond for driving with a lot of weed on 'DUI'

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

Driving under the influence doesn't have to involve alcohol, but the legal consequences can be just as serious, as TLC's "DUI" reveals.

On Thursday's midseason finale, a 25-year-old man named Casey was stopped at a DUI checkpoint during the July 4 weekend in Tulsa, Okla., after police smelled marijuana, and the situation became more serious when a big discovery was made.

Trooper Shiloh Hall first pulls out a smallish baggy of Mary Jane. Then, with a triumphant "Yeees!" Hall reveals a plastic grocery bag full of weed. "Couple pounds. He's gonna be arrested for intent," Hall explained. (It was two pounds, to be exact.) But that wasn't all the trooper found in the vehicle. Hall then started counting out a stash of cash on the hood.

After being arrested, Casey decided to throw some attitude as well. "You're a pig! All y'all are pigs!" the construction worker told the trooper. Check it out:

His trouble didn't end there. In an exclusive clip TLC shared with msnbc.com, a seemingly calmer Casey realized just how much trouble he was in legally ... and financially.

"You have four felonies," a police officer told the 25-year-old. "Your total bond is $26,000."

"I'm worried about my future," a depressed Casey admitted. "I'm a felon now." See what else he had to say about his legal and personal troubles in this exclusive clip:

The midseason finale of "DUI" airs on Thursday at 9 p.m. on TLC.
