'Jersey Shore' star Vinny Guadagnino's new show will spotlight family

    By Ashley Majeski, TODAY contributor

He may have had some wild times with Snooki and the rest of the "Jersey Shore" clan, but it looks like Vinny Guadagnino's newest co-stars may be bringing things to a whole other level of crazy.

Guadagnino has managed to pull in some A-list guest stars for his upcoming reality/talk show, "The Show with Vinny," but it's obvious from this "super trailer" released recently by MTV that the true stars will be Guadagnino's relatives. They include his meatball-making mother, Paola, and loudmouth Uncle Nino -- both of whom made frequent guest appearances on "Jersey Shore."

Get More: The Show With Vinny, Full Episodes

“This is my crazy house with my crazy family,” Guadagnino says.

The guest stars, who will include everyone from actor Mark Wahlberg to rapper Lil Wayne and singer Ke$ha, will sit down with Guadagnino to dish on their careers and lives in general. However, unlike on other talk shows, these conversations won't take place in a stuffy television studio. Instead, the celebrities will knock on the door of the Guadagnino house in Staten Island, sit down at the family table and give the scoop, all while Vinny’s mother serves up her savory Italian dishes.

"This is the show where celebrities come to keep it real," Guadagnino says.

Uncle Nino seems to be in charge of bringing some of the zany antics viewers saw on “Jersey Shore” back to Staten Island. The trailer shows him stripping down to his skivvies and letting Ke$ha pour bucketfuls of glitter over him.

“This is normal!” Guadagnino assures us in the clip.

In one scene, actress Jenny McCarthy chats with Guadagnino's mother to get the inside scoop on how she's dealing with the "S-E-X" situation, now that her son is living under her roof. Paola -- who obviously didn't catch her son's bedroom antics while he was on "Shore" -- looks embarrassed and starts fanning herself, telling her son, "I'm getting warm!"

Guadagnino is the latest "Jersey Shore" cast member to get a spin-off show. His co-stars Jenny "JWOWW" Farley and Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi have had a success with their spin-off, "Snooki & JWOWW," which was just renewed for a third season by MTV. Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio's spin-off, "The Pauly D Project," did not fare as well and was not been renewed for a second season.

"The Show with Vinnie” premieres May 2 at 10 p.m. on MTV.

'My Crazy Obsession' premiere to feature woman who stalks celebs for photos

    By Ashley Majeski, TODAY contributor

Some people will stop at nothing in their quest to become famous. For Vanessa Sky Ellis, however, the goal isn’t necessarily to become famous herself but rather just be near famous people.

In the season two premiere of TLC's 'My Crazy Obsession,' Ellis discusses her fascination with meeting and taking pictures with celebrities. The Brooklyn native spends about eight hours a day "celebrity-spotting" and estimates that she’s collected over 10,000 pictures with celebrities, counting everyone from Angelina Jolie to Rev. Al Sharpton as her conquests.

"I’ll go after whoever, whenever," Ellis said. "Celebrity-spotting is most important to me. It's more important than having a boyfriend, going to work, then doing anything."

Between stalking famous people in New York City during the day and her late-night gig as a bartender, Ellis doesn’t have much free time, and claims to only sleep about two hours a night.

"Me getting another photo with somebody, that’s me achieving," she explained. "That makes me feel good."

In some cases, Ellis’ obsession with famous people has made her somewhat famous in her own right. Her fixation on 'Jersey Shore' star Paul "Pauly D" Delvecchio garnered her some camera time during the show’s final two seasons. Ellis would frequently show up at the Shore Store to watch Delvecchio as he worked, and reportedly even tried to sneak into the show’s season 6 premiere party in New York last October. On her Twitter account, Ellis proudly calls herself "Jersey Shore's Real Pauly D stalker."

In addition to Ellis’ tales of celebrity hunting, the premiere episode also features a segment with a woman named Chantal that eats and sleeps with her 19 pet rats. Her obsession has caused her marriage to fail, but Chantal refuses to stop buying rats. Other obsessions featured on the episode include a man who wants to be a merman and a woman who can't stop collecting Raggedy Ann dolls.

The show’s second season premieres Wednesday, April 3, at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.

'Jersey Shore' series finale featured fist pumps, pranks and teary goodbyes

    By Bruna Nessif, E! Online

    Ian Spanier / MTV

The cast of "Jersey Shore" said so long on Thursday night's series finale.

This is it -- the very last episode of "Jersey Shore" ever. Sigh. Before we had to say our goodbyes to Sitch, Snooki, Pauly D, Sammi, Ronnie, Vinny, Deena and JWoww, the group put together one of their biggest parties to-date with a bonfire on the beach.

Between getting the hard wood (which Vinny was great at doing), carrying all the supplies down to the beach and making a fire, creating this farewell party was not easy, but everyone's friends and families joined in, which made it all worth it.

Fun fact: If Jionni was about three feet taller and 100 pounds heavier, he could play on the NFL. Boy's got some football skills, and even outran Mike, who was in "the best shape of my life." Or so he said (time and time again).

The next day was their last work day at the Shore Store. It was bittersweet and somber, but Snooki said she wouldn't mind if Lorenzo worked there, so maybe he'll be pressin' shirts someday, too.

Meanwhile, Paula, the girl that Mike played mind games with for three summers, left a card and cake for her ex to celebrate his upcoming birthday. Super sweet, but c'mon, girl, what were you thinking? He doesn't deserve that. However, we found out she had an ulterior motive. Stay tuned.

The Jersey Shore gang "definitely ready to move on"

In an attempt to get Sammi back for her "prank" of locking the guys out upstairs, Vin and Pauly decided to take Ron's air mattress and put it outside, except they committed the ultimate fail: Vinny accidentally popped the mattress. And you should know, Ronnie cared about that mattress more than anything in the world.

They rushed to put it back in the room, hoping the couple wouldn't find out what happened. When Ron and Sam got back, they thought the prank was just deflating the bed. Poor Ronnie tried to fill it back up with air for forever. In the end, he got mad at Sam for pulling her "lame" prank in the first place. Vinny with the win.

The next day was the Fourth of July and celebration of Mike's and Pauly's birthdays. There was cake, fireworks and a dramatic movie starring Ron and Sam. It had been a while since we've seen one of those. Ronnie still wasn't over the bed situation and wanted Sam to apologize, but she felt she didn't do anything wrong. As with all of their fights, it quickly escalated to them saying they should just break up.

21 things we've learned from Jersey Shore

Don't worry, they didn't. Instead, Ron and Sam just said sorry, kissed and made up. Whew!

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

Remember how we said Paula was up to something with that cake? So, during their GTL sesh on the last day, the group went tanning and Paula's coworker at the salon asked Mike's roomies (while he was in the tanning bed) if they ate the cake. Everyone said no, since only Mike, Deena and Pauly ate some, and she shared a photo taken of some guy putting his testicles on the cake. Yup, that happened.

Is Paula the new prank war champion? We think so.

Mike tried to call Paula to confront her about that situation, but she kept pretending she couldn't hear him. That apparently got Sitch really P.O.'d, because he threw the duck phone on the ground and smashed it. No! Not the duck phone! RIP.

    Read last week's recap!

Their last night together was spent with everyone gathered on the deck to reminisce and reflect on all the memories they've created since season one -- from using the hot tub the first night, to Snooki getting punched in the face by a guy at the bar, to Pauly and Jenni's hookup, to welcoming Deena into the house.

    Grab the Kleenex.

Alas, bags were packed and loaded into cars, and tearful goodbyes were said (yeah, even Mike cried), and that was it.

    Peace out, Seaside.

'Jersey Shore' finale marks the end of a reality TV era

    Ian Spanier / MTV

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

Bye-bye, endless parties! So long, smush room! On Thursday night, "Jersey Shore" is calling it quits.

Longtime critics of the show and those who simply never gave the GTL action a chance will no doubt celebrate the end of all of the fist-pumping and drunken drama on the MTV series. But for those who found it to be a guilty pleasure and a perfect prime-time escape, there's nothing to cheer about. After all, it's the end of an era.

Granted, it was a brief era. It might be hard to believe -- now that "Shore" lingo and cast names are solidly part of pop culture -- but it's been only three years since the Seaside Heights-based reality show first debuted. Only three years since we first met Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and saw her go from knocked out in season one and to knocked up in season six. But it's true.

Time flies when you're captivated by reality TV's most bizarre bunch. (Or former most bizarre bunch -- Honey Boo Boo and family might just be vying for that title now.)

In the time between those seasons, cast members have come (Deena Cortese) and gone (Angelina Pivarnick), but the essence of the show has stayed the same. Given free rein to party and a swanky pad to crash at, the self-proclaimed Guidos and Guidettes always end up in ridiculous situations.

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

Twitter Follow Ree Hines on Twitter

It doesn't make for high-brow viewing, that's true. No one ever got smarter for having watched Ronnie Ortiz-Magro get whipped up into a rage or by catching a glimpse of Snooki's boozy hijinks. But who flips over to MTV for an education? It's plain old voyeuristic entertainment -- or it was.

Now, Snooki and Jenni "JWoww" Farley and some of their fellow former housemates have, or soon will have, other shows of their own. They've (somewhat) grown up and moved on.

That's why Thursday night's series ender is a mixed bag for fans. It's not a happy TV occasion, but it's not out of place either. On the one hand, viewers will sorely miss the weekly dose of tipsy adventures, big fights and hilarious misunderstandings between the show's regulars. But on the other hand, the timing seems right.

Snooki's a mom now. JWoww's engaged. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino is sober. The days of constant, over-the-top parties were coming to an end anyway. The cancelation just makes it official.

'Jersey Shore's' 6 most outrageous moments

    Seaside Heights Police Dept.

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi was arrested by Seaside Heights policemen July 30, 2010, on the beach and charged with disorderly conduct.

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

It's almost over! After a steady stream of hits, hookups and countless fist pumps, "Jersey Shore's" cast of characters are about to say so long to the show that made them famous.

Before the sixth and last season of the reality TV phenomenon comes to an end, take a look back at the six most outrageous moments that made the show what it is.

    Snooki's arrest
"I'm a (expletive) good person!" That was the repeated whine everyone's favorite hair-poof-lovin' "Shore" star delivered as a group of frustrated police officers removed her from the beach and delivered her to the back of a cruiser in the show's third season.

The hubbub began after Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi helped herself to a few too many daytime cocktails and then decided to take a walk -- right into the ocean (with her hat, her purse and thankfully, her protective roommates all on hand). In fact, it weren't for the efforts of Jenni "JWoww" Farley and Deena Cortese, who first asked police to help them get their extremely inebriated friend off the beach, drowning -- rather than a drunk and disorderly arrest -- might have been the then-party girl's fate.

Snooks, who later looked back on the incident with regret, said, "It was legit like my midlife crisis."

    Cleaning the smush room
Of course, party time for the occupants of the Shore House didn't always mean drinking to the point of face-planting in the sand. Sometimes it just meant bringing a willing pal home for a few intimate moments, something the fellas did a whole lot of over the course of the series.

The ladies had their moments too, but it was usually the guys who made use of the spot that came to be known as the "smush room" -- sometimes more than one of the guys (with more than one gal pal) at a time. So when Snooki required the room one night in the show's second season, she and JWoww decided the room needed a proper disinfection.

Covered from head to toe in DIY hazmat gear (otherwise known as a whole lot of taped-together garbage bags and gloves) and armed with spray bottles, the ladies rid the space of condom wrappers, underpants and other "disgusting" guy things.

Ronnie and Sammi's epic break up
The ups and downs between Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi "Sweatheart" Giancola were worthy of a show of their own. When the couple was caught up in their romance, they were madly in love. And when things turned bad, the pair was just as passionate about it.

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

Twitter Follow Ree Hines on Twitter

In season three, after a series of "he said, she said" fights, infidelities and one contentious letter, everything fell apart. Correction: Ronnie tore everything apart.

See, going their separate ways just wasn't enough for the emotional pair. In the midst of yet another tear- and rage-filled fight, Ronnie destroyed Sam's belongings and even tried to throw her bed out with her still in it. In short, Ronnie Smash! And after a night at the club, Ronnie returned to smash some more.

When Sammi, who gave him some grief too, surveyed the damage, she left Ronnie and the Shore House behind. Of course, eventually, she came back (to both).

    Snooki gets punched
Back in season one of the show, when many folks had never even heard of the GTL crowd, Snooki made headlines for being on the receiving end of a barroom punch. When the episode aired, viewers learned what led up to the incident.

The event kicked off when a guy at the bar decided to take ownership of some shots purchased by the "Shore" gang. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino tried to play it cool by simply ordering more drinks, but the dude claimed those too.

That's when Snooki told him, "It's not for you!" And he responded with a punch to the face that sent her straight to the floor.

If it ever seems like the "Jersey Shore" roommates have trouble getting alone, just see how quickly Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino and the rest of them form a united front when someone attacks one of their own -- especially the smallest girl in the group.

    Deena shows it all
When season three kicked off (yes, season three again -- it was the best!), Deena moved in and joined the cast. And it didn't take long for the girl who called herself a "blast in a glass" to make a memorable first impression.

While having a flirty (and intoxicated) moment with Sitch, she decided to ... do something that only she really understood. Apparently her trick involved pulling down her shorts, but keeping her bikini bottom on.

Well, she got the first part right, but the second part? Not so much. She'd barely said "hello" before delivering her very first (televised) "kooka" flash.

Mike gets into a bad situation
The cast went to Italy to film the fourth season of the series, and soon news spread of a big fight between Ronnie and Mike. Paparazzi spotted The Situation sporting a neck brace, and that's all the rumor mill needed to decide Ron was the aggressor.

But when the all-important episode finally made its way to MTV, it was clear that Ronnie didn't do the damage.

Sure, there was a fight between the two hotheads, but after Mike repeatedly asked Ronnie, "You want to hit me?! You want to hit me, tough guy?!" he then threw himself into a wall -- head first.

See the Seaside Heights gang put their outrageous days behind them when MTV airs the series finale of "Jersey Shore" Thursday at 10 p.m.

Reality check for reality TV fans: You're more neurotic

    By Courtney Hazlett, TODAY

Ratings show us that Americans hunger for reality TV about as much as Honey Boo Boo’s family craves their infamous ketchup-and-butter-topped “sketti.” But while we think we’ve come to know the people on the small screen in shows as varied as “Teen Mom” and “Deadliest Catch,” what do we know about the viewers who regularly tune in?

TODAY.com surveyed nearly 19,000 people and found those who watch reality TV consider themselves more extroverted, more neurotic, and say that they have lower self-esteem than folks who aren’t fans of the genre.

    AP (2), Getty Images

Three big stars of reality TV who generate a fair share of viewer reaction are, from left, Honey Boo Boo, Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, and Kim Kardashian.

Although both watchers and non-watchers of the genre report relatively high levels of self-esteem, the survey revealed that some viewers actively turn to reality shows to make them feel better about their own lives.

Feeling untidy because of those couple of dishes left in the sink? That’s nothing compared to what you’ll see on A&E’s “Hoarders.”

"That’s clearly about schadenfreude -- taking pleasure in the misfortune of others,” psychiatrist and frequent TODAY contributor Dr. Gail Saltz says. “On the one hand, what’s wrong with feeling a little better about your house when you see someone on TV with a mess and 50 cats? On the other, it’s not a helpful defense mechanism when you have your own things going on that you should be attending to.”

Seventy percent of reality TV fans reported being extroverts compared to 59 percent of non-watchers. And 24 percent of those viewers considered themselves neurotic, compared to only 14 percent of non-watchers, the survey revealed.

“Extroverts are people who gain a lot of what they want from the outside world. Obviously watching someone else’s world is exactly that,” Saltz said. “Neurotic people tend to be worried about how others will judge them. Then you have “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” -- here’s the family who’s the epitome of ‘we don’t care.’ That would be an enjoyable thing to watch for a person who’s walking around thinking ‘I have to think about what people say.’”

As one fan of the show wrote: “It’s totally hysterical. I laugh the whole time. They have absolutely no embarrassment about anything they do and show you can be happy with very little. Sweet people.  Gross ... but sweet.”

    View more videos at: http://nbcconnecticut.com.

Watching people pick through piles of garbage on “Hoarders” may seem like a considerable decline in the evolution of the reality genre – especially for those who grew up on the simple joy of “Survivor.” But while competition shows certainly paved the way for unscripted programming, the TODAY survey was focused on shows like “Real Housewives” and “Teen Mom” -- a subset of programming where there’s no elimination along the way and no prize at the end.

So what else did the survey tell us about the genre so many publicly snicker at, but privately watch?

    • “Deadliest Catch” -- chronicling the high-seas adventures of crab fishermen -- is the most popular show among men, which might not come as a surprise. But the second-most popular among men? The “Real Housewives” franchise.
    • “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” and the “Real Housewives” franchise were the two most popular shows among women.
    • Women are more likely than men to watch reality programming (49 percent of women versus 24 percent of men.)
    • Younger people were much more likely to watch: 19- 29-year-olds made up 70 percent of respondents.

And sorry, Snooki, but shows like "Jersey Shore" support the concept that some reality TV leaves viewers are appalled but unable to look away. “I like watching the train wreck,” was the common refrain.

But the allure of the train wreck only goes so far. For as pervasive as the programming seems to be, there are plenty of people not watching, and they’re not afraid to say exactly why.

“I think reality show(s) are the stupidest thing ever created for TV and a blight on society,” a non-viewer said in the survey. “I believe [reality TV] is contributing to the dumbing down of our country and promotes bad and immoral behavior,” said another.

    Follow @TODAY_ent

While there’s ample opportunity on some shows to watch pretty awful behavior, that doesn’t mean that it’s taking down civilization as a whole, one uncouth incident at a time.

Julie Klausner, who recaps “Real Housewives of New Jersey” and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” for New York magazine, said, “I know a lot of smart people who watch ‘Housewives’ and ‘Honey Boo Boo,’ and we all have a very specific sense of status, which is, we know when it's not OK to laugh at somebody, and when it makes sense to root for them.”

Regardless of whether you think reality television can be painted with a single brush, either good or bad, the truth is millions of people continue to tune in. In 2011, “Jersey Shore” was the most-watched cable series on television, averaging 9.3 million viewers per episode. Each new episode of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” draws about a million viewers, and that number doesn’t count the number of people who watch (or re-watch) the reruns.

The laws of television programming -- if it rates, run it -- reign supreme. Until that kind of viewing trend changes, the genre probably isn’t going away.

But that doesn’t mean the makers of such programming are in a hurry to talk it up. Numerous reality TV producers and executives for the networks that run the shows were asked to comment about TODAY’s survey findings. Everyone declined.

We who watch might be as much to blame as the people who participate in the shows. David Frederick, professor of psychology at Chapman University and consultant on the TODAY survey, points out that “we are likely hardwired to seek out information on how other people deal with conflicts, family, friends and mating.”

“Reality TV provides one source of information regarding what makes some people more susceptible to being manipulated, what makes them more prestigious, and how to survive in dangerous situations,” Frederick said. “These shows appeal to a very basic human need for information about social relationships.”

Decades ago, the social relationships before us -- on television at least -- might have come from the family sitcom, but the days of “Leave it to Beaver” and even “Friends” are long behind us. For now, for better or worse, that torch has been passed.

So for the Kardashians, the various real housewives, and you, too, “Giuliana and Bill” -- you have our attention. Behave wisely.

They may be best known for fist-pumping, fighting and boozing their way along the Seaside Heights boardwalk, but the stars of MTV's "Jersey Shore" are serious about rebuilding the beloved attraction in the wake of Superstorm Sandy.

That's why the cast is joining forces with Architecture for Humanity, a nonprofit group specializing in design and construction, for MTV's upcoming benefit "Restore the Shore."

According to information on the network's website, the special will seek contributions towards "the rebuilding and restoration of Seaside Heights."

In a promo, "Shore" star Vinny Guadagnino spoke on behalf of his castmates.

    <

"It's definitely sad to see the place that we made our second home be destroyed like that, but at the same time, we're all going to come together and hopefully rebuild it," he said. "And then, I'm praying that next summer it will be a place we can go back to and party. Now is a good time for everyone to come together and be humanitarian and rebuild."

Other celebrity guests are expected to take part in the fundraising event, but they've yet to be announced.

"Restore the Shore" will air live on Nov. 15 at 11 p.m. ET on MTV.

For the past six seasons, Seaside Heights, N.J., has served as part-time home and playground to the always outrageous cast of MTV's "Jersey Shore." It's been the backdrop of arrests, parties, hookups and countless spray tans for Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi and the gang. And now, Superstorm Sandy has left the boardwalk reduced to rubble and there's destruction all around.

E! News reports, via a reporter for the Newark Star-Ledger, that somehow the house featured on the show survived the storm undamaged.

Most of the cast has been online and confirmed that they're safe and sound. But if their Twitter feeds are anything to go by, they're all still reeling from the state of their old stomping grounds.

"Just saw seaside update on TV!" wrote Ronni Magro. "This is crazy living there for 4 summers & seeing in such disaster! What do u mean no more boardwAlk?"

Snooki was similarly shocked, writing, "Seaside Heights suffered bad from the hurricane and my prayers go out to everyone affected! We are all fine here...love you JS."

Jennifer "JWoww" Farley simply tweeted, "Sad day."

The message was a little more lighthearted from Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio.

"Can't Believe #Sandy Ruined @snooki's PooOorchh !!!! Where Am I Gonna Kick It At Now ??" he tweeted.

But Vinny Guadagnino shifted the focus to one of the real stars of the Jersey shore.

"Just saw our Police Chief Boyd of Seaside on the news risking his life to save people. #HERO," Guadagnino wrote.

As for Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and Deena Cortese, according to their last tweets, they both lost power early on in the storm and haven't logged on again yet.

Brittany Taltos of 'Bachelor Pad 3' gets head run over by truck

    By Us Weekly

    Craig Sjodin / ABC

Brittany Taltos participated in season three of "Bachelor Pad."

Brittany Taltos, the bubbly blonde who appeared on both "Jersey Shore" and "Bachelor Pad 3" with her twin sister, Erica, is recovering after a freak automobile accident left her with 15 stitches on the side of her head.

On Oct. 21, Taltos fell asleep while wearing headphones and lounging in the front yard of her Gainesville, Fla., home -- when a friend backed his Chevy Silverado through the yard, the former reality star wrote on Facebook. The driver, 20-year-old Taylor Greer, apparently did not realize Taltos was there until he heard her screams. (Greer apparently was backing up the truck to pick up a cooler from her porch.)

"I woke up with half a tire in my face," Taltos told The Independent Florida Alligator. "I thought I was going to die."

After receiving 15 stitches on the side of her head and being treated for bruises and ear canal damage, Taltos was released from the hospital shortly after the accident.

"It was very fortunate she was on softer ground where this occurred or the injuries may have been much worse if not fatal," Gainesville Fire Rescue Lt. Tracey Hidgon told The Gainesville Sun.

Greer was not charged in incident, though an investigation into the accident's cause continues.

Snooki and fiance on son Lorenzo: We want him to have a normal life

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

"Jersey Shore's" one-time resident party girl, Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, is now a mom, and with motherhood has come some big changes. No more wild ways; no more looking out for number one. Now Snooki is all about looking after her little bambino.

The reality star stopped by TODAY Wednesday morning along with fiancé Jionni LaValle for her first live interview since giving birth to the little guy who changed it all two months ago.

"It's crazy 'cause, you know me, I always wanted to have a good time," she said of her transformation. "'Where's the next party? What am I going to do tonight?' And now it's just like, you know, 'I love my baby. What can we do with him?' It's just totally different."

Jionni's seen the change in Snooki for himself.

"She loves him," he insisted. "She's a great mom."

But as much as things have changed since Snooki first found out she was pregnant, some things never change. For instance, the scene in the delivery room was classic Snooki.

"She wanted to look good," Jionni explained. "You know, makeup, lipstick, everything. I said, 'Nicole, you're giving birth!'"

"I even brought heels just in case," she added, "but my feet just blew up -- I couldn't."

And while she likes to make sure Lorenzo always looks camera-ready too ("He has to look good!"), she and Jionni don't always want cameras following him around.

"Right now it's fine, while he's this young," Jionni said. "But once school starts, when he gets a little older, I kind of want him to branch off from that. Nicole can do what she has to do ... I kind of just want him to live like a normal lifestyle."

"We want him to have a normal life where he goes to school, you know, has friends, girlfriends," Snooki agreed. "I want him to have the learning experiences that we did growing up. So I want it to be as normal as possible."

It's no doubt a bit of a shock for regular "Jersey Shore" viewers, seeing the former cocktail-loving Seaside Heights gal go from cooling off her spray-tanned backside in the house mini-fridge to talking up the virtues of a "normal life." But according to Snooki, it's all about timing. This is the time to grow up. And it's almost time for "Shore," now in its final season, to end.

"It's definitely bittersweet," she said of the end of the "Jersey Shore" era. "But you know, me being pregnant, filming the last season, it was just like the right time -- when we're all growing up, going our separate ways. … So I think this was the perfect time, but I'm definitely going to miss it."

Of course, fans won't have to miss Snooki. While "Jersey Shore" is on the way out, her spinoff with co-star and BFF Jennifer "JWoww" Farley, "Snooki & JWoww," is still going strong.

Are you surprised by how much the former party girl has changed her ways since becoming a mom? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.

Snooki shoves frozen food down dress to beat heat on 'Jersey Shore'

    MTV

Snooki finds a way to beat the heat on "Jersey Shore."

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi welcomed bambino Lorenzo into the world back in August, but thanks to the delays of reality TV, she's still expecting on the next episode of "Jersey Shore." And as it turns out, pregnancy -- plus the rising temps in Seaside Heights -- can make things too hot to handle.

In a clip MTV provide to The Clicker, Snooki found a creative way to beat the hot flash heat.

"Is the air on? I'm, like, sweating -- serious hot flashes right now," she complained. "Uh! Is there an ice pack?"

Apparently there wasn't, but after checking out the freezer, Snooki found something even better -- a cache of frozen foods.

"Don't judge me, I'm sweating," she said as she stuffed the cold treats down the front of her dress.

Shore House resident Ronnie Ortiz-Magro wasn't about to judge. After all, as he pointed out, "Probably the best way to defrost anything in this house is put it on Snooki."

Find out what else Snooki's been up to lately when she's joined by little Lorenzo's dad, Jionni LaValle, on TODAY Wednesday morning.

"Jersey Shore" airs Thursday at 10 p.m. on MTV.

What do you think of Snooki's trick for tackling hot flashes? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.
