Hollywood Walk of Fame won't give Kim Kardashian a star

    By The Hollywood Reporter

Kim Kardashian may have some trouble achieving this particular goal.

Kim Kardashian Lets Kanye West Clean Out Her Closet (Video)

Speaking to V Magazine, she acknowledged the barriers to earning a spot on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but said that, given by her natural competitive spirit, she would "love to break that mold."

    Not so fast, however.

    PHOTOS: Inside Kardashian Inc.

A rep for The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce confirmed that it's more than just a matter of taste that is keeping her without a star.

"Part of criteria in being honored is receiving awards such as Emmy’s, SAG Awards, Oscars etc. in the category of Television, Live Stage Performance or Motion Pictures," the rep said. "They have to have a career in the business of acting for five years or more."

Kardashian, having never been nominated for a major award, is thus ineligible. Her acting career has been limited to a guest role in"Drop Dead Diva" and a part in a Tyler Perry film.

As for whether reality stars might one day be in contention to get a star, the rep said, "Can’t really say if reality stars will ever be eligible. Not on our radar right now."

Kardashian tweet gets LOL from sex-tape partner Ray J

    By Kurt Schlosser, TODAY

If the only filmed sex acts on your mind today are related to what might have been playing at the Tiki Theater in Santa Monica Wednesday night, Kim Kardashian's one-time love Ray J may change that -- with one tweet.

    Getty Images file

    Kim Kardashian and Ray J.

The singer re-tweeted a message from his home-video co-star on Wednesday and set the Internet abuzz with headlines saying he was mocking her.

"Keep your life in a positive perspective," Kardashian tweeted on Wednesday. "We are not defined by our pasts."

    Twitter

A couple of hours later, "Lol" was the only thing Ray J needed to put in front of that as he clearly sought to seize on the claim from the reality star, whose fame is so often traced to the leaking of their video.

5 scandals Kanye should put to rest on his 35th birthday

    Danny Moloshok / Reuters file

    Kanye West

    By Courtney Hazlett, TODAY

It's Kanye West's 35th birthday and we just didn't know what to get him. After all, what do you buy for the guy who just sold a pair of sneakers on Ebay for upwards of $90,000? You buy him nothing. Instead, Kanye, we treat you to this list of your five biggest missteps thus far in your career. It's our hope that as you round the corner into the latter half of your third decade, you can do so with less focus on scandal, and more focus on your music--which is pretty great.

    • Dating Kim Kardashian
Tempting as it is to pretend this just isn't happening, it appears that Kanye and reality nuptial queen Kim Kardashian are romantically involved. Not that we don't wish them both happiness in their own right, but the track records here for attention-grabbing for the sake of attention-grabbing aren't great. Relationships that work aren't played out in front of cameras. (Do you really need the reminder, Kim?) And now they're already talking about getting married? Help us. Or at the very least, promise if you do get married, it will happen far, far away from any cameras.
    • Colossally awful tweets
Most Twitter accounts ought not to be taken too seriously, and Kanye's certainly falls into that category. It's served as a place for ranting against those who pair hoodies with sport coats,  and sometimes offers wise advice, like reminding his 7 million followers "no alcohol before tattoos." But it's also been the perfect place to put his outsized ego on display. "God chose me. He made a path for me. I am God’s vessel. But my greatest pain in life is that I will never be able to see myself perform live," he wrote in 2009.
    • Abortion commentary
If ever there was a subject not fit for discussion in 140-character increments, it's the abortion. But that didn't stop Kanye, who actually never said whether he supported it or not, but rather commented on the price of the procedure. His remarks were so outrageous, the fact that they were written on Twitter is almost beside the point. On this occasion, West never apologized.
    • 'George Bush doesn't care about black people'
He just said WHAT? West went off-script during a portion of the Hurricane Katrina telethon, offering up his opinion of how the then-president was treating African-Americans in the wake of the storm. Did it open up the dialogue about the treatment of Katrina victims? Certainly. Did it do so in a way that would be most productive? Doubtful. Instead of the storm being the message, Kanye was. In Bush's recent memoir, he wrote that the implication that he was racist was "the worst moment of my presidency."
    • And the No. 1 biggest misstep: 'I'ma let you finish'
This stage-crash heard around the world barely warrants any additional explanation (but in case you just joined planet Earth and need a rehash of exactly how Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards, go here). Despite several apologies (one, likening himself inexplicably to Ben Stiller in "Meet the Parents") this is likely going to follow West around the rest of his life. On the upside, this awful display of manners has given us many years worth of comedy. A Tumblr page devoted to "Kanyegate"? Yes, please.

Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian go to Washington

    Imeh Akpanudosen / Getty Images

    By Courtney Garcia, msnbc.com contributor

To the bewilderment of some, Lindsay Lohan and Kim Kardashian will be among the celebrities heading to Washington on Saturday for the annual White House Correspondents Dinner, attending as guests of Fox News Channel.

Kardashian was invited by the network itself, which has included her in the past; Lohan will attend as personal guest of news anchor Greta Van Susteren.

Considering Lohan’s recent history of drug and alcohol abuse, and time spent in jail, it’s primarily this latter move that caught people off guard, given the fact Van Susteren recently spouted off on the dinner’s original host, comedian Louis C.K., because he uses foul language. The anchor said she felt he was an inappropriate emcee because his jokes were derogatory towards women, and indicated she would boycott the event should he remain on board.

Soon thereafter, Louis C.K. declined the gig and was replaced by talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

In response to the Lohan news on Thursday, Meghan McCain gave her assessment of the matter, tweeting, “Let me get this straight Greta Van [Susteren] is bringing Lindsay Lohan to the WHC Dinner but has a moral offense to [Louis] C.K?”

The conservative journalist and daughter of Sen. John McCain promptly found a bandwagon amongst her following.

The Washington Post's Reliable Source team, Amy Argetsinger and Roxanne Roberts, take a look at the star studded White House Correspondents' dinners of the past, and talk about what to expect from this years dinner.

Scott Shields tweeted in response, “Sure. A comedian using bad words is unacceptable, while a celebrity with substance abuse issues is hilarious. America, 2012.”

Added Joey Guzman, “Thank you! She’s offended by someone who's a comedian but is cool with someone who's life has been a comedy ... wtf?”

    Follow @ msnbc_ent

The Fox host later explained herself to TMZ, referencing news from Monday that Lohan would play Elizabeth Taylor in the upcoming Lifetime movie, “Liz and Dick.”

“I love comebacks, and I'd like her to succeed," remarked Van Susteren, who was also the one that invited Kardashian in 2010. "She's got a new movie and I'm hoping things work out for her."

Though the typical crowd at the event varies from A-listers down, the rest of the attendants this year don’t spark as much debate. Reports People, additional guests include George Clooney, Josh Hutcherson, Charlize Theron, Sofia Vergara, Viola Davis, Daniel Day-Lewis, Dakota Fanning, Jason Schwartzman, Aziz Ansari, Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer.

Kanye West changes song title from 'Theraflu' to 'Way Too Cold'

Chris Hyde / Chris Hyde / Getty Images

    Kanye West

By Alexis L. Loinaz, E! Online

Maybe "Theraflu" just had way too many bad symptoms associated with it.

Kanye West has changed the title of his controversial new song following a backlash from the manufacturer of the drug it's named after, who slammed the rapper for inappropriately cribbing their product's name.

Henceforth, West would like you to know that you should call the track "Way Too Cold."

    Sniff, sniff!

So what's he saying about the switcheroo, and why'd he do it?

MORE: Kanye West's new song "Theraflu" -- is he "in love" with Kim Kardashian?

West is chalking it up to a "creative decision."

"I changed the name of the song THERAFLU to WAY TOO COLD and you can buy it now at KANYEWEST.COM," the rapper tweeted yesterday, providing a link to his official website, where he explains the reason.

Doesn't look like anything else with the song has changed, though, including punchy lyrics like "I'll admit I fell in love with Kim around the same time she had fell in love with him," presumably name-checking rumored ladylove Kim Kardashian while trashing her ex, Kris Humphries. "Well, that's cool, baby girl, do you thing / Lucky I ain't have Jay drop him from the team." (Jay-Z is a co-owner of baller Humpries' team, the New Jersey Nets.)

The song, which also includes the lyrics "Tell PETA my mink is draggin' on the floor," grabbed PETA's attention as well, and they promptly blasted the rapper by issuing a statement that read, "What's draggin' on the floor is Kanye's reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings."

PHOTOS: Kanye West -- idiot or genius?

Earlier this month, Theraflu manufacturer Novartis got up in arms over West's use of their product name, saying that "Novartis Consumer Health in no way endorses or approves of the references or use of the image and likeness of Theraflu in this manner."

Hope they're feeling better now that he's made the switch!

    By Brandi Fowler, E! Online

Theraflu big wigs are giving Kanye West the cold shoulder over his new song, named after the cold and flu-calming brand.

Shortly after releasing "Theraflu," the hip-hopper came under fire from Theraflu reps, who told E! News, "Novartis Consumer Health, the maker of Theraflu, is aware of a song recently released by rapper Kanye West, which contain references to Theraflu in its title, lyrics and artwork. Novartis Consumer Health in no way endorses or approves of the references or use of the image and likeness of Theraflu in this manner."

And they aren't the only ones miffed by the single...

PETA is also peeved about the song, due to this particular lyric from the loquacious rapper: "Tell PETA my mink is draggin' on the floor."

"What's draggin' on the floor is Kanye's reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings," PETA Senior Vice President Dan Mathews tells E! News in a statement. "He's a great musician but doesn't seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes. We keep hoping that one day he'll find his heart and join evolved style icons--including Russell Simmons, Pink and Natalie Portman--who have dropped animal skins."

Kim Kardashian talks about her past with Kris and possible future with Kanye

    By Ree Hines, TODAY contributor

The past year has been a whirlwind for reality TV star Kim Kardashian. In addition to juggling her many on-screen and off-screen jobs, she also fell in love with Kris Humphries, got married, broke up and if new rumors and one song are to be believed, she now has a new, high-profile love interest in her life.

On Friday morning, Kardashian stopped by TODAY to talk about those very public, personal relationships and the perspective that she's gained from going through marriage and divorce.

"Now, after going through something myself, I really feel like I can relate and understand other people that have gone through things that have been tough," she said of her post-split perspective. "I thank God for my family for getting me through it."

But of course she's not completely through it yet. Her divorce from Humphries is ongoing, and he's expressed interest in fast-tracking the breakup with an annulment. According to Kardashian, it's not that simple.

"I'm sure I would love one myself, but you know, there's certain guidelines on how you can get one and I'm not sure that we fall under that," the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star explained. "But I'm really, out of respect for him, I try not to really talk about stuff involving him regarding that situation.... I'm just really ready to close that chapter. I have closed that chapter. I'm just really ready to move on."

    Follow @ TODAY_ent

Moving on is exactly what some rumors say Kardashian has done -- with rapper Kanye West. There's been buzz about the possible-couple, dubbed Kimye by fans, following their outings at fashion week and their recent "Hunger Games" date. Those rumors really took off after a new track from West called "Theraflu" featured a lyrical confession that he "fell in love with Kim."

So what does she say? Kardashian was uncharacteristically quiet on the topic when TODAY's Ann Curry asked.

"I completely respect and understand that you have to ask these questions, but as I've said before, Kanye and I have been friends for years," she said before adding, "You know, you never know what the future holds or where my life will take me. So ... I like the song!"

Get a closer look at all of Kardashian's relationships when "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" returns to the E! Network May 20.

Kanye West, seen here with Kim Kardashian at Paris Fashion Week 2012, now admits he was in love with her.

    By Us Weekly

    Lovesick Kanye!

On Wednesday, Kanye West unexpectedly released a brand-new song online, "Theraflu,"and in between the 34-year-old rapper's typically over-the-top boasts and X-rated tangents, he made a surprising confession about his pal Kim Kardashian.

Looking back on his romance with ex Amber Rose, who is now engaged to Wiz Khalifa, West rapped, "Only n---- I got respect for is Wiz, And I admit I fell in love with Kim around the same time she fell in love with him."

    PHOTOS: Kim's less-than-awesome 2011

West then went on to make a catty reference to Kardashian's future ex-husband, NBA star Kris Humphries, who just happens to play for the New Jersey Nets, which is owned by West's good friend Jay-Z. "Well that's cool, baby girl, do your thing, lucky I ain't have Jay drop him from the team," he rapped, implying he could get Humphries, 27, fired from the team.

Although they've never commented on a romance, West and Kardashian, 31, have been friends for years, and the "Otis" rapper filmed a cameo on "Kourtney and Kim Take New York" in summer 2010. They were spotted hanging out together during Paris Fashion Week earlier this year.

Fake Will Smith tweet about Trayvon Martin, Kim Kardashian goes viral

    Twitter

By Andy Lewis, The Hollywood Reporter

A fake tweet attributed to Will Smith that connected the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin to the flour bombing of Kim Kardashian has gone viral on Twitter.

    PHOTOS: Hollywood's Twitter feuds

The alleged tweet says "WE live in America where a girl that threw flour on Kim Kardashian was arrested on site. But the man who KILLED Trayvon Martin is still free."

A screenshot of the tweet has also circulated attributing it to the account of @RealWillSmith and including a picture of the actor.  The account @RealWillSmith actually belongs to a white man from Nashville, TN.

The real Will Smith does not have a publicly known Twitter and there is no record of him saying the quote.  Among the people who have retweeted the fake Smith quote are Spike Lee, Rosie O'Donnell and Omarosa.

This is not the first fake tweet associated with the killing of Trayvon Martin. The @RealFerrelWill twitter account tweeted "R.I.P. Trayvon Martin," they wrote. "For every R-T this tweet gets, $1 will be donated to the #TrayvonMartin Foundation, which helps counteract racism." Hundreds of people retweeted the offer, including Parks and Recreation star Aziz Ansari, before they realized it was a fake.

Seventeen-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot by George Zimmerman a neighborhood watch captain in Sanford, Florida, on February 26. Zimmerman reported to police that Martin looked suspicious. Police advised him to stay back but he approached Martin. A confrontation ensued and Zimmerman shot Martin. The teen was unarmed and simply returning from a quick trip to a nearby convenience store.

STORY: Spike Lee uses Twitter to spread awareness for Trayvon Martin case

Zimmerman claimed he shot Martin in self-defense and though he contradicted police orders to stay back was not charged for murder or even manslaughter under Florida's "Stand Your Ground" law, which allows a threatened person to use force to defend themselves.

After civil rights leaders called attention to the case, it became a national controversy, with President Obama saying, "If I had a son, he'd look like Trayvon."

In the wake of the national attention, Florida officials reopened the investigation into Zimmerman and appointed a new prosecutor. The FBI and federal Justice Department also announced investigations.

Separately, Kim Kardashian was “flour bombed” at an event at the London West Hollywood Hotel where she was promoting her new fragrance, True Reflection.

A woman dumped a bag of flour on Kardashian in the hotel lobby. The woman’s motivation was unclear though it appeared to be a prank.  The woman was detained at the scene by West Hollywood police and released. Kardashian has said she is considering pressing charges against her.

A post-flour-bomb, cleaned-up Kim Kardashian rejoins the red carpet.

By Ken Baker and Natalie Finn, E! Online

Talk about Kim Kardashian dusting herself off!

Though she played it cool on the red carpet last Thursday after a young woman tossed a bag of flour on her, the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star is considering pressing charges, she exclusively tells E! News' Giuliana Rancic and Ken Baker.

"I said earlier no I wasn't (going to file a complaint)," Kim said. "I am just going to think about it, because I don't want someone to think they can really get away with that. So we are going to handle that."

She said that she really wanted to reach out, however, to point out that she felt worse for the people running the event last night than she did for herself. Not to mention, it was kinda terrifying....

MORE: Guess who's "so proud" of Kim for taking that flour bomb like a champ?!

Kim was posing for pics at the launch of her new fragrance, True Reflection (also benefiting Dress for Success) at the London West Hollywood hotel, when the not-yet-identified woman seemingly came out of nowhere, catching even the cameras by surprise. Kim was escorted off the carpet to clean up, ASAP, with concerned mom Kris Jenner following closely behind.

Security led the rogue flour girl away, but authorities did not release her name because she was not taken into custody at the scene.

"I was laughing it off earlier and, you know, I think that is the only thing I knew how to do at the time," Kim admitted. "But I just think it is such a shame that someone like that ... would ruin an event, or attempt to ruin an event, that was based around, not only my fragrance, but this organization, Dress For Success. I mean that's what the event was about. These women flew in from all over the country to be a part of this event, that are underprivileged women, that really got the shine taken away from them a little bit. That's why I am calling in now. I feel bad that it was kind of derailed from that."

"Now that I think about it and had some time to digest it," she added, "I think, 'What if that was some other substance? What if that person had a dangerous weapon?' It's scary. And what's even scarier is this woman acted as if she was a part of the press. She just came out of nowhere! And so we are definitely changing things up a little bit, amping up security, taking some measures, and ... I'm gonna definitely deal with it because it is not acceptable."

    Follow @ TODAY_ent

Meanwhile, scariness aside, how did Kim tidy herself up so quickly and return to the red carpet within minutes after such a shock?

"I have no idea," she replied. "I didn't think it was that bad until I saw the pictures today and was like, 'Wow, there was so much powder on me,' or flour, or whatever it was!"

    GALLERY: Hollywood party pics

"But," Kim concluded, "as soon as I got in the elevator, 'I said, 'Guys there are a ton of people that are paying money to be at this event." If she didn't go back, she would feel as if she were "letting them down ... disrespecting them."

So, "my mom was using a blow dryer trying to get it out of my hair. My whole jacket was wet, because you know we were making sure it didn't look like it was white. She was wetting it down and I said, 'I don't care. Wet or not I'm just gonna put this back on, get all this powder off and go back down there and finish the event. We're not going to let this ruin it.'"

And they most certainly did not.

Who wants to watch some reality TV?! Apparently not "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm.

“Mad Men” heartthrob Jon Hamm is apparently not a fan of reality TV culture.

The handsome actor slammed two prominent reality stars in a recent interview, saying their success “doesn’t make any sense.”

“Whether it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated,” Jon reportedly told Elle UK magazine in an interview for their April issue, as excerpted by The Daily Mail.

“Being a [expletive] idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture,” he continued. “You’re rewarded significantly.”

Jon is not the first celebrity to speak out against the Kardashian fame phenomenon. Back in November, Bond franchise star Daniel Craig also lashed out at the famous family using the same expletive-ridden description.

“Look at the Kardashians, they’re worth millions. I don’t think they were that badly off to begin with, but now look at them,” Daniel told Britain’s GQ magazine in an interview at the time. “You see that and you think, ‘What, you mean all I have to do is behave like a [expletive] idiot on television and then you’ll pay me millions?’”
