VMA host Kevin Hart on Kristen Stewart's affair: People make mistakes

    Kevin Winter / Getty Images

Host Kevin Hart speaks onstage during the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

    By Us Weekly

Kevin Hart decided to "address the elephant in the room" by discussing Kristen Stewart's affair with Rupert Sanders at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards Thursday.

PHOTOS: What the stars wore to the 2012 VMAs

"Everybody's mad at Kristen Stewart for making a mistake," Hart, 32, told the audience at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. "She allegedly messed around with the director of 'Snow White and the Huntsman.' If she did, so what? It's over. Move on. Look on the bright side, they're now a part of the seven dwarfs. You've got sleepy, grumpy, adultery, cheating."

    PHOTOS: VMA's wildest moments

Stewart was caught cheating on her "Twilight" costar and real-life boyfriend of three years, Robert Pattinson, in mid-July. Us Weekly revealed the exclusive photos of Stewart and the married director, 41, engaged in a steamy makeout session.

"The point that I'm making is this, if you made a mistake ... so what!" Hart said. And he wanted everyone to know he will be making mistakes hosting the award show. "I'm going to make mistakes because people made mistakes before. Kanye West ... Britney Spears and Madonna when they kissed ... Russell Brand hosted -- twice!"

    PHOTOS: Kristen cheats on Rob

Instead of attending the VMAs with her estranged boyfriend this year, Stewart made her post-scandal debut at the premiere of "On the Road" at the Toronto International Film Festival Thursday.

Kristen Stewart rebels against a packaged image of herself: 'I'm not that smooth'

    Vogue

    By The Hollywood Reporter

Kristen Stewart, who has been generating even more headlines than usual thanks to her recent cheating scandal, says she struggles with being in the public eye. The actress reveals in the October issue of British Vogue, the cover of which she graces, that she has a hard time presenting herself a certain way.

STORY: Kristen Stewart cheating scandal: PR experts assess her chance of recovery

"I know that if you haven't thought about how you want to present a very packaged idea of yourself then it can seem like you lack ambition. But, dude, honestly? I can't," Stewart says. "People expect it to be easy because there you are, out there, doing the thing that you want and making lots of money out of it. But, you know, I'm not that smooth. I can get clumsy around certain people. Like if I were to sit down and think, 'OK, I'm really famous, how am I going to conduct myself in public?' I wouldn't know who that person would be! It would be a lot easier if I could, but I can't."

The actress has kept a low profile since she admitted July 25 that she cheated on Robert Pattinson, her boyfriend and "Twilight" co-star, by having an affair with her married "Snow White & the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders.

VIDEO: Robert Pattinson breaks silence on Kristen Stewart cheating scandal

"This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry," Stewart said in a statement after Us Weekly ran photos of her and Sanders in compromising positions.

Pattinson recently wrapped a media tour his movie "Cosmopolis," during which he deftly evaded directly answering questions on the subject.

Stewart next stars in "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2," which opens Nov. 16, and "On the Road," an adaptation of Jack Kerouac's novel that hits U.S. theaters in late December. In the latter, she plays a 16-year-old non-conformist liberal, a character to whom Stewart says she can relate.

STORY: Kristen Stewart apologizes for cheating on Robert Pattinson

"There is always going to be that seam of people who want things differently to the standardized version," she says. "It's not necessarily a rebellious thing, it's just who they are. That world back then, it just seems freer to me than anything I could ever touch, and I'm fully nostalgic for it, even though I wasn't even alive then.

"It's the loyalty aspect of it all. I love being on the periphery with a group of people who have the same values that I do. People who don't get off on fame, who just like the process of making movies and thrive."

What is a movie star? New Hollywood system is breaking down definition

    The Hollywood Reporter

Shia LaBeouf, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska and Tom Hardy on the cover of The Hollywood Reporter.

By Tatiana Siegel, The Hollywood Reporter

Call it the $10 million kiss. That's how much Kristen Stewart stands to lose if Universal decides not to go ahead with a sequel to "Snow White and the Huntsman," which has earned $389 million globally -- and the actress' now-infamous tryst with director Rupert Sanders may be a large factor.

Stewart is one of the few rising stars to have reached the $10 million mark. (At press time, Jennifer Lawrence was close to getting roughly $10 million for "The Hunger Games" follow-up, "Catching Fire"; while "Snow White's" Huntsman, Chris Hemsworth, boosted by his roles in Marvel's "Thor" and "The Avengers," also will earn $10 million if the "Snow White" sequel goes ahead.) But Stewart's precariousness at the top -- despite the global punch of the "Twilight" franchise, which brought her $25 million as well as healthy backend deals for the series' final two films -- shows how vulnerable she is, like most of those on Hollywood's new A-list.

The era is long past when a star like Tom Cruise could launch a career with "Risky Business" and "Top Gun," then stay in the stratosphere for decades. None of the new stars gets the once-standard "20-against-20" deal -- that is, $20 million upfront and 20 percent of the studio's take from exhibitors, after they make that $20 million back. Today, stars are seen as disposable, or at least interchangeable. As one top studio executive ruminates, "What major star has emerged in the past five years?"

More from THR: Shia LaBeouf reveals why he's abandoning big-budget movies

Aside from Channing Tatum -- who weathered a bunch of flops before scoring with "The Vow," "21 Jump Street" and "Magic Mike" -- the answer just might be none. Rather than an A-list, it might be better to think of a "hot list," in the words of one mega-agent: "That's what it is -- the guys you hope will last because nobody's shown they can do that just yet."

Asks "Twilight" producer Marty Bowen: "How many times have we anointed actors and actresses stars before they've actually become stars? People said Brandon Routh would be a superstar after "Superman Returns." Well?" (Routh is starring in one of CBS' fall sitcoms, "Partners.")

Executives, producers, lawyers and agents interviewed for this article -- many speaking off the record -- agree that Tatum, 32, stands at the pinnacle, able to command $10 million for Roland Emmerich's actioner "White House Down."

"I don't know that anyone else has kicked into that kind of gear; the 'Twilight' and 'Harry Potter' stars haven't," says producer and former Fox Filmed Entertainment chairman Bill Mechanic. "But movies make movie stars; very few actors can rise above that."

While many studios have individual preferences for actors (Warners is betting on Tom Hardy for the new "Mad Max," while Sony is happy to be in bed with "Spider-Man's" Emma Stone), every studio wants Tatum -- so much that he's booked solid for the next year.

More from THR: THR picks actors on stardom's cusp

In some ways, Tatum defies the rules that have become de rigueur for most actors aspiring to join this quicksilver new A-list: First, make sure you have critical credibility, either through an art house hit or an Oscar nomination; then link yourself to a franchise; and finally, prove your movies can deliver in the overseas market, which now attracts 69 percent of the overall box office.

Lawrence has done all of that, getting an Oscar nomination for the tiny film that propelled her to fame, "Winter's Bone." She then boosted her standing with "X-Men: First Class" and finally defined herself as a fully fledged star in "The Hunger Games," which has earned $684 million worldwide. The $10 million or so she'll make for the sequel is 20 times the $500,000 she got paid upfront for Games-- a figure that has become a benchmark for actors taking the lead in launching most non- Marvel franchises.

    Follow @ NBCNewsEnt

Many of those are near-unknowns, like Andrew Garfield when he was signed for "The Amazing Spider-Man." Insiders say Garfield, who was best known for co-starring in "The Social Network," received the now-standard $500,000 upfront while Stone might have earned as much as $2 million. The actress has followed a similar path to Lawrence -- breaking out in 2007's "Superbad" and hitting it big with 2009's "Zombieland" and 2010's "Easy A" before landing in "The Help" and "Spider-Man."

One actress who has taken a different route while still making it to the new A-list is Jessica Chastain, who has been Oscar-nominated for "The Help" and has worked with "Terrence Malick" in The Tree of Life" but has never been in a blockbuster, nor appears to desire one; she even turned down a sci-fi epic -- "Oblivion," opposite Cruise -- and pulled out of "Iron Man 3." "Her career choices are different," says one executive. "She just doesn't seem to want to make those films."

More from THR: Jennifer Lawrence negotiating $10 million payday for 'Hunger Games' sequel

In fact, Chastain illustrates how A-lists -- whether new or old -- contain two distinct subcategories: those who demonstrate box-office prowess and those who attract top-tier talent. "Sean Penn and Daniel Day-Lewis are A-listers, but they are not bankable," explains Bowen. "They are lightning rods for attracting other talent."

Although franchise gigs such as "Twilight" and "Potter" can help a star rack up hits, they also can lead to his or her decline. In the wake of "Spider-Man 3" -- and the $20 million payday -- Tobey Maguire hasn't had another big hit. Indeed, he dropped his fee to less than $2 million for Warner Bros.' summer 2013 release "The Great Gatsby."

All of these actors are trying to navigate an environment that has become increasingly challenging, with studios and directors in such ascendancy that stars often seem like an afterthought.

Jodie Foster slams media frenzy surrounding Kristen Stewart

Kevin Winter / Getty Images file

    By Rebecca Macatee, E! Online

Jodie Foster is not one to judge. In fact, the 49-year-old actress thinks we should all show a little compassion when it comes to the personal lives of celebrities. In particular? Let's give Kristen Stewart a break.

In an op-ed for the Daily Beast, Foster addresses our culture's obsession with fame and how we "seldom consider the childhoods we unknowingly destroy in the process."

Jodie Foster is "surprised" Kristen Stewart is an actress

Foster recalls shooting "Panic Room" with Stewart in 2001. "We talked and laughed for hours, sharing spontaneous mysteries and venting our boredom. I grew to love that kid," she says, reminiscing about a then 11-year-old, carefree Stewart playing a basketball game on set. "I was pregnant at the time and found myself daydreaming of the child I might have soon. Would she be just like Kristen? All that beautiful talent and fearlessness ... would she jump and dunk and make me so proud?"

"Actors who become celebrities are supposed to be grateful for the public interest," Foster says, noting that she wouldn't have been able to withstand growing up in today's saturated star culture. "After all, they're getting paid. Just to set the record straight, a salary for a given on-screen performance does not include the right to invade anyone's privacy, to destroy someone's sense of self."

Her advice for Stewart? Remember that "this too shall pass."

All grown up! Check out Kristen Stewart's Vanity Fair shoot.

"The public horrors of today eventually blow away. And yes, you are changed by the awful wake of reckoning they leave behind. You trust less. You calculate your steps. You survive," she says. "Hopefully in the process you don't lose your ability to throw your arms in the air again and spin in wild abandon. That is the ultimate F.U. and -- finally -- the most beautiful survival tool of all. Don't let them take that away from you."

    Wise words.

Kristen Stewart dropped from 'Snow White and the Huntsman' sequel? Not so fast ...

    By Natalie Finn, E! Online

Are Kristen Stewart's Snow White days behind her? They very well may be, but not because anyone pulled a 180. Contrary to a report, Stewart has not been dropped from Universal's planned "Snow White and the Huntsman" sequel because the concept is being retooled to focus on Chris Hemsworth's Huntsman.

Alex Bailey / Universal Pictures via AP

Chris Hemsworth, left, Kristen Stewart and director Rupert Sanders on the set of "Snow White and the Huntsman."

Kristen's On the Road is on the schedule at the Toronto Film Festival

Rather, she was never officially attached to one to begin with. (And, for that matter, neither is Hemsworth, as yet.)

What's true is that the first film's scribe, David Koepp, is no longer working on a second film, sources confirmed to E! News Tuesday.

"We are exploring options to continue the franchise and no decisions have been made," added a rep for Universal Pictures. (E! and Universal are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)

But Stewart herself told us earlier this summer that, while she was down to reprise her role as the armor-wearing, sword-wielding, very un-Disney heroine, the best part about her situation was that -- unlike the case with "Twilight" -- she was not contractually obligated to do a sequel.

Cosmopolis director, costar sound off on Robert Pattinson's personal drama

"We don't have to do it," Stewart said at a "Snow White" sneak preview. "That's the coolest thing. There's no pressure. But to be able to expand on this would be awesome."

Of course, that was before the 22-year-old was caught kissing married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders on camera.

So, though the last word from Sanders (pre-scandal) was only that he'd been approached about doing a second film, maybe now it's extra-cool for Stewart that she's not obligated to be in it.

Will Kristen Stewart scandal hurt box office for 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2'?

    By Joal Ryan, E! Online

There has been weeping. There has been yelling. There has been weeping and yelling in the same four-minute YouTube video.

But there probably won't be "Breaking Dawn — Part 2" theaters left empty because Kristen Stewart has been outed for cheating on costar Robert Pattinson.

Bella, Edward and Jacob react to the birth of Renesmee, and Bella's new life as a full-blooded Cullen. Opens Nov. 16

"In general, it doesn't seem as though romantic tangles in real life have much effect on the financial performance of films," says Brush Nash of the box-office data site, The Numbers.

Stewart "doesn't belong in a committed relationship"

The most famous films linked in the public imagination to off-screen romances and affairs either were box-office hits, à la Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," or flops that flopped because they weren't regarded as very good, such as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez's "Gigli" and Meg Ryan and Russell Crowe's "Proof of Life."

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton's "Cleopatra," the most prominent of all "Scarlet Letter"-branded films, did suffer, image-wise, if not budget-wise, under the weight of the tabloid romance. But it also rated as a must-see, reigning as 1963's No. 1 film, and winning four Oscars.

When the Volturi learn of the birth of Renesmee, they become determined to destroy her, setting in motion a showdown between those loyal to the Cullens, and those loyal to the Volturi. Opens Nov. 16.

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2," due out Nov. 16, would seem to be in unchartered waters. Instead of its on-screen couple coming together off-screen, Stewart and Pattinson are apparently breaking up. Instead of a one-off movie romance, the actors have been a duo through four previously released films. And instead of a one-off movie, "Breaking Dawn — Part 2" is part of a multi-media franchise, with a, ahem, somewhat-passionate fan base.

Has Kristen Stewart just scored major new movie role?

But just as promotion for the film (and Pattinson's upcoming "Cosmopolis") will go on, so will ticket sales, say some fandom observers.

Evie, managing editor of Twilighters Anonymous, who, befitting the name of her site, goes only by Evie, says she thinks the numbers of the aggrieved, the aforementioned weepers and yellers, are small — "although they can make a lot of noise online."

The vast majority of "Twilight" fans, Evie says, "clearly see the actors' lives are not related to the movie and furthermore that the actors' lives should be kept personal."

Stewart didn't take up with "Snow White" Rupert Sanders director on set

    Follow @ NBCNewsEnt

As such, Evie says, "Fans will go see the last installment. It's their last chance to see any of the story on screen."

Michelle Pan of the fan site, BellaAndEdward.com, and author of the now-prophetically titled, "Bella Should Have Dumped Edward," for one, wouldn't miss it.

"Most fans like myself have been eagerly awaiting this movie for years now," she says. "The release of 'Breaking Dawn — Part 2' in theaters is an event that has been in the hearts of fans long before Robsten."

Pattinson sets first post-scandal public appearance

At least one "Breaking Dawn — Part 2" actor is on record as essentially agreeing.

"I don't think anyone's really gonna give a s---," Christian Serratos, who plays Forks High student Angela Weber in the film series, told Us Weekly. "They're gonna see the movie; it's going to be awesome."

Kristen Stewart issues public apology for cheating scandal

    By Courtney Hazlett, TODAY

Moving quickly after allegations of cheating surfaced, actress Kristen Stewart, 22, and "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, 41, have issued very public apologies for the cheating scandal that surfaced after photos of the two of them in a close embrace were leaked.

Stewart, who has been dating "Twilight" co-star Robert Pattinson for three years, first issued a statement to People saying, "I'm deeply sorry for the hurt and embarrassment I've caused to those close to me and everyone this has affected. This momentary indiscretion has jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

Not long after, Sanders apologized via People saying, "I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family. My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world. I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

    Follow @ TODAY_ent

Sanders is married to British actress Liberty Ross (who actually played Stewart's mother in "Snow White and the Huntsman") and the couple have two children. Ross has not spoken publicly about the "indiscretion," but interestingly, she's said to have deleted her Twitter account after hearing about the allegations that her husband and Stewart had an affair, but not before tweeting the singular word, "Wow."

    Pattinson has yet to comment.

Sure, she's rich, but can Kristen Stewart act?

Danny Martindale / Getty Images Contributor

Why is Kristen Stewart smiling? Perhaps because she earned $34.5 million over the last year.

    By Joy Jernigan, TODAY

There’s more to Kristen Stewart than Bella Swan.

There’s no doubt that the "Twilight" actress, who toppled Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker on Forbes.com’s annual list of highest paid actresses on Tuesday, is a box office draw. But can she act?

“She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag,” wrote one of our Facebook readers.

"She's a horrible actress! She lacks any inner fire or warmth," wrote another.

But some critics and actors beg to differ.

“On the plus side, portraying Bella Swan has brought Kristen Stewart fame, fortune and a (frighteningly) dedicated fan base who thinks she can do no wrong,” wrote Moviefone’s Sandie Angulo-Chen. “On the other hand, there are pockets of film-lovers who can't stand the 'Twilight' films or think Stewart is nothing more than a doe-eyed ingénue.”

What critics may not know is that Stewart, 22, landed her role in the “Twilight” franchise because she so impressed Emile Hirsch in Sean Penn’s Academy-Award nominated “Into the Wild,” wrote Angulo-Chen. “Stewart is a fascinating young actress who deserves to be considered for much more than taking a part in a paranormal romance that just happened to be a global sensation.”

    Follow @msnbc_ent

In her most recent film, “Snow White and the Huntsman,” Stewart earned kudos from fellow actor and one-time Oscar host James Franco in The Huffington Post: “The images of Snow White as a leader of immense strength, charging on horseback across the beach at the head of an army, has less to do with her character and more to do with the actress who plays her."

In 2011, Stewart won a best actress award at the Milan International Film Festival for “Welcome to the Rileys,” an independent film in which she plays a teenage stripper befriended by a middle-aged businessman. In a New York Times review of the film, Monohla Dargis calls Stewart “an exceptionally appealing screen presence, and she makes Mallory’s confusion — the swings between vulgar braggadocio and clutching vulnerability — reverberant and real.”

But Stewart is undoubtedly best known for her lead role in the "Twilight" series. While Stewart took the MTV Movie Awards for best female performance in 2008 for “Twilight,” 2009 for “New Moon” and 2011 for “Eclipse,” her portrayal of Bella Swan in the franchise also earned her two worst actress Razzie nominations (for “Eclipse” and “Breaking Dawn – Part 1”).

Long before Stewart had ever heard the name Edward Cullen, however, she portrayed Jodie Foster's daughter in 2002's "Panic Room," for which she received her first of four nominations for a Young Artist Award. (The other films for which she was nominated were 2003's "Cold Creek Manor," 2004's "Undertow" and 2007's "Into the Wild.") In 2010, at the height of "Twilight's" popularity, Stewart won BAFTA's Rising Star Award.

Stewart’s movies have grossed an average of $65.9 million, according to the-numbers.com. For the final two movies in the “Twilight” series, imbd.com notes that Stewart was paid $12.5 million plus a share of the profits.

Whether or not you think she can act, Stewart has proven that she has star power.

Kristen Stewart bumps Angelina Jolie as highest-paid actress

    By Patricia Reaney, Reuters

NEW YORK -- Kristen Stewart, who shot to fame as Bella Swan in "The Twilight Saga" films and has a starring role in "Snow White and the Huntsman," jumped to the top of Forbes.com's annual list of highest-paid actresses on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old earned an estimated $34.5 million from May 2011 to May 2012 and pushed Angelina Jolie into fourth place.

Cameron Diaz, who had a surprise hit with "Bad Teacher," came in second with $34 million.

"She (Stewart) is an up-and-coming star. She is earning a lot of money from one of the most successful franchises of all time. This is who you would expect to see right now," said Dorothy Pomerantz, Forbes Los Angeles bureau chief.

"This year you are seeing somebody young and at the brink of potentially great stardom sitting on the top of the list."

Forbes.com compiled the list and estimated salaries by talking to agents, managers and lawyers and based earnings on pay, profits, residuals, endorsements and advertising work.

Oscar-winner Sandra Bullock, who largely took a break from filming after 2009's "The Blind Side," came in third with $25 million.

Jolie, who topped last year's list along with Sarah Jessica Parker, dropped to the fourth spot with earnings of $20 million while Charlize Theron, Stewart's co-star in "Snow White and the Huntsman" who also appears in "Prometheus," trailed at $18 million, and rounded out the top five places.

Parker, whose 2011 film "I Don't Know How She Does It" brought in a disappointing $30 million at the worldwide box office, slipped to seventh place with a $15 million salary.

"She is almost earning more from her perfume and endorsement deals right now than from entertainment. That is true of a lot of women. They have these outside deals that are very lucrative. Angelina Jolie earns a lot from residuals, as does Sarah Jessica Parker," Pomerantz said.

Former "Friends" star Jennifer Anniston just made the list, earning an $11 million salary.

The top 10 actresses earned a total of $200 million, according to Forbes.com, a lot less than the $361 million total that the 10 highest-earning men made.

"It is nowhere near what men are making," Pomerantz said. "I think it will be a while until women see salary parity, if it ever happens. Women are paid less in every industry, not just in Hollywood."

Kristen Stewart vs. Charlize Theron: Which 'Snow White' star is best dressed?

    Getty Images

Kristen Stewart, left, and Charlize Theron in London on Monday.

    By Team Truth, E! Online

Happy "SWATH" Day, Awful readers! If you tuned into the "Snow White and the Huntsman" premiere via the Facebook livestream this morning (can you believe the gorgeous setting?!), then you saw both Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron rock the enchanting green carpet. Aren't they just to die for?!

Although Char and Kris became fast friends on set, the Evil Queen and Snow White are fighting to the death in the flick, so it's only fair we have a little SWATH best-dressed competition, right?

Well, cue the "Breath of Life" soundtrack -- it's time for a "Snow White" fashion smackdown.

READ: Charlize Theron Reveals Love of Motherhood: "It's Strangely Everything You've Hoped For"

Apparently, sheer details are the hottest "SWATH" trend, because both Charlize and Kristen donned dazzling dresses with peekaboo cutouts.

Charlize channeled her Evil Queen Ravenna in a long black Christian Dior dress with sheer detailing that almost exposed her breasts (how scandalous, no?). She wore her hair swept up into a perfectly slicked French twist and donned dangly jade green earrings to complete the look. Her smoky eyes and pale lips just screamed Evil Queen, and there's no doubt Charlize looked absolutely stunning. The only thing missing? Her thorny crown to complete the wickedly cool style!

Kristen also decided to rock a character-inspired look -- her black lace Marchesa gown with cascading train and beaded detailing made the badass actress look so friggin' pretty -- and we love the departure from her oft-casual style. And can we just talk about the sex appeal?! The usually Converse-clad K.Stew channeled her inner princess with this lacy fairy tale-inspired dress. The blinged-out back and the sheer-nude cutouts just prove Kristen knows how to make Snow White sexy.

Like Charlize, Kristen also wore her hair in up in a bun, but she sported a messier style. We love the gold details woven through her bun (so fairy tale-esque), but the London breeze kept blowing Kristen's hair in her face! A slick style like Charlize's would have been much better with her Snow White-inspired look.

Our verdict? Kristen takes best dressed and Charlize takes best hair.

Kristen Stewart: 'Twilight's' Renesmee played by 'little Chucky dolls' with wigs

    Summit Entertainment

Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) have a fast-growing daughter, Renesmee, in "Breaking Dawn Part 2."

By Gael Fashingbauer Cooper, NBC News

Many "Twilight" fans are wondering just how Edward and Bella's half-vampire, half-human daughter will be portrayed in "Breaking Dawn Part 2," which hits theaters Nov. 16.

Young actress Mackenzie Foy, 11, who plays the role part of the time, is "the coolest actress," Kristen Stewart, who plays Bella, told Jay Leno on "The Tonight Show" Friday night.

But a younger Renesmee is played not by an actress, but by "little Chucky dolls," Stewart told Leno, and the actress didn't seem too thrilled with the dolls' appearances.

Since Renesmee undergoes a super-vampiric growth spurt, she looks a little different from most babies right from the start -- the baby dolls playing her are capped off with outrageous wigs.

"An infant with a full head of hair, on a fake doll," Stewart described the character.

"I'm not criticizing," she quickly told Leno, loyally defending her film. "It's going to look awesome I'm sure."

"Twilight" fans will have to wait until fall to find out.

Will you see the final "Twilight" film? Do you think the filmmakers can make Renesmee believable, or will this be another talking wolfpack scene? Tell us on Facebook.

Bieber, Swift big winners at slimy Kids' Choice Awards

    By Bob Tourtellotte, Reuters

LOS ANGELES -- The green slime flowed so much that even first lady Michelle Obama could not escape it at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday where singers Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift came away big winners.

    Slideshow: Kids' Choice Awards

    Launch slideshow

The program is an annual stop for Hollywood stars who are popular among teenage and young viewers watching the Nickelodeon cable TV network, and this 25th anniversary was no exception.

Hosted by "Men in Black" movie star Will Smith, the awards featured performances by Katy Perry and British boy band One Direction, who performed their hit "What Makes You Beautiful" from the album "Up All Night."

But as always, the green slime was the biggest star at the show where Bieber won favorite male singer in fan voting.

On stage, Bieber took the orange blimp trophy from Smith, then the show's host had a surprise for the 18-year-old pop star. Bieber was also voted by fans as the celebrity they most wanted to see get slimed, and the green goo flowed from the rafters and water cannons aimed at the stage.

There was so much goo splashing around in the finale that it splattered on the face of a surprised first lady.

Obama was on hand at the popular show to give the "big help" blimp trophy to country star Swift.

The honor, bestowed on Obama two years earlier for her work with kids fitness and health, goes to a celebrity who has devoted time and energy to charitable causes. Swift was singled out for her work to stop bullying and for providing aid to tornado victims in the southern United States.

Swift "rocketed to the top of the music industry, but still keeps her feet on the ground," Obama said about the 22-year-old country singer, calling her "someone who is going to keep making sparks fly for all of us in the years ahead."

Other winners included made-for-TV band Big Time Rush, named favorite music group.

Selena Gomez, 19, was named favorite female singer for her work with pop band The Scene, as well as favorite TV actress in the "Wizards of Waverly Place," which ended its run on the Disney Channel earlier this year.

"Twilight" stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner both grabbed orange blimps. Stewart, 21, was named favorite movie actress. Lautner, 20, earned the title best "butt kicker" for his role as werewolf Jacob Black in the vampire romance flicks.

Favorite movie actor was Adam Sandler, 45, known for goofy comedies such as his recent "Jack and Jill."

Nickelodeon's "Victorious" was named top TV show.
