Angelina Jolie's kids get roles in her movie 'Maleficent'

    By Us Weekly

    Disney Enterprises, Inc.

Angelina Jolie stars in "Maleficent," and will be joined by three of her children.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's children are following in their famous footsteps and heading to the big screen! Two months after a rep for Walt Disney Studios confirmed 4-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt will play the child version of Elle Fanning's Princess Aurora in the live-action movie "Maleficent," Us Weekly has learned that two of the A-list couple's other children, Pax, 8, and Zahara, 7, will also appear in the fantasy flick; a rep for Disney had no comment.

"They have smaller parts," reveals a source, who adds that Pax and Zahara won't have speaking roles. "Shiloh was supposed to be in it, too, but she was bored and not in the mood during the day her part was supposed to happen, so she ended up not being in the film." (Six-year-old Shiloh did, however, have a brief role in Pitt's 2008 film "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.")

"Maleficent" is a reimagining of the classic fairy tale "Sleeping Beauty," told from the villainess' perspective; Jolie plays the titular role. The film also stars Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Brenton Thwaites, India Eisley, Miranda Richardson and Kenneth Cranham. It's slated for a March 2014 release.

"It's a really great script, and I'm having a lot of fun. I've already got my horns fitted," Academy Award winner Jolie told Entertainment Weekly in March, three months before shooting began. "My kids are very happy."

Jolie and Pitt, 48, are also parents to son Maddox, 11, and Knox, 4.

Angelina Jolie's daughter cast in 'Maleficent'

Vivienne Jolie-Pitt, get ready for your close-up.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's 4-year-old daughter has landed a role in her mom's upcoming live-action fairy tale, "Maleficent," E! News has learned.

Disney confirmed the news, announcing that Viv will play the child version of Elle Fanning's character Princess Aurora in the flick, a 3-D reworking of 1959's "Sleeping Beauty" that explores the origins of the Mouse House's iconic villain, Maleficent.

    See Angelina Jolie as Maleficent!

Jolie plays the titular sorceress who casts a spell on Aurora, so the probability that Angie and Vivienne will act in the same scene together is pretty high, if not a fate accompli, while the fantasy continues shooting in the U.K.

Regarding the casting, a source close to the 37-year-old Oscar winner told Britain's The Sun that "Ange thought it would be a fun experience for her and Viv to share, and Viv is a natural."

Perhaps it shouldn't be a surprise then if Viv's twin brother, Knox, clamors for a part as well, not to mention big sibs Shiloh, Pax, Zahara and Maddox.

Though Shiloh doesn't have much to complain about, as she had a cameo as Pitt's big-screen daughter in 2008's "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."

Maleficent hits theaters on March 14, 2014.

Disney’s new film reveals the origins of one of their most famous villains, sharing the events that hardened Maleficent’s heart and drove her to curse the baby Aurora in the 1959 classic "Sleeping Beauty."

Jolie announced that Maleficent would be her next role back in February while at the Berlin International Film Festival.

"I haven't acted in two years, and I haven't done anything else since this ['Land of Blood and Honey']. The next thing I am looking at is a Disney movie," said the actress.

EXCLUSIVE: Juno Temple Joins Angelina Jolie's 'Maleficent'

The film marks the directorial debut for Robert Stromberg, an Academy Award winning production designer ("Avatar," "Alice in Wonderland").

Elle Fanning stars as Aurora and Sharlto Copley is Stefan, the half-human and half-fairy bastard son of the human king. Juno Temple, Imelda Staunton and Lesley Manville play the three pixie fairies.

Fans will have quite a wait for "Maleficent," which is set for release on March 14, 2014 in 3-D.
