'Once Upon a Time': Next stop, Neverland!

    ABC

Colin O'Donoghue as Hook on ABC's "Once Upon a Time."

    By Drusilla Moorhouse, TODAY contributor

"Once Upon a Time" is headed to Neverland!

At Sunday's PaleyFest panel, executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (aka "Lost" Boys themselves) dropped all manner of hints about where the series is headed this season and next.

For starters, they revealed the titles of season two's two-part finale: "Second Star to the Right"/"Straight on 'Til Morning."

As J.M. Barrie wrote in "Peter Pan," "That, Peter had told Wendy, was the way to the Neverland; but even birds, carrying maps and consulting them at windy corners, could not have sighted it with these instructions."

Good thing Emma's baby daddy, Baelfire, knows how to sail a pirate ship, eh?

Bizarre Love Triangle: Bae/Neal might have a romantic rival in Hook. As Jennifer Morrison, who plays Emma, told The Clicker before taking the stage, "Emma's definitely intrigued by Hook -- he is a kindred spirit for sure. He's someone who will do whatever it takes to survive, the same way Emma has in her past. I think she relates to that and has some sort of respect for it. Even though he doesn't always have the best intentions, she's drawn to him and at least feels connected to him in that way."

Although many fans would approve of this, um, Hookup, don't count on the endorsement of Emma's parents.

"I don't think that we would be too keen on (her) being with someone who shared her baby daddy's mother's bed," Ginnifer Goodwin (Mary-Margaret/Snow) joked at the panel. Josh Dallas (Charming/David) was even more blunt, telling The Clicker, "He's a bit of a d----- bag -- (albeit) a good-looking one."

Besides Bae and Hook, producers say the finale will introduce at least one new character from Neverland, whom we won't actually meet until season three.

Recasting the Mad Hatter: Kitsis refuted rumors that another actor would be wearing the magic top hat, in "OUAT" or a possible spin-off. "We have no plans to recast anyone," he said, noting that actor Sebastian Stan is "a very busy man" so it's unclear when we'll see the return of Jefferson.

Snow Black: In next Sunday's episode, "The Miller's Daughter," Snow does something very, very bad, which will have grave repercussions not only on her relationship with Regina, but with her loved ones. Goodwin shared at the panel, "What she is going through is going to shake her self-identity."

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

Twitter Follow Drusilla Moorhouse on Twitter

And her relationship with Regina as well: Lana Parrilla cackled, "I get to dish it right back at her ... it's gonna get pretty intense. We're definitely going to see a different side from Mary-Margaret."

And when we asked Parrilla to rate Regina on a scale of 1 to pure evil, she revealed, "It's gonna be about a 14."

'80s Flashback: In March 17's "Welcome to Storybrooke," we're going back to 1983. Along with the return of the Huntsman (Jamie Dornan), dished Kitsis, "We are going to get more insight into what it was like that very first week in 1983 what was life like for the evil queen to live in -- and to figure out this modern clothing."

But Parrilla told The Clicker her request for crimped hair was shot down. "I always wanted a crimper when I was younger and my mother never got one. They're like, 'No, that's not happening!' "

The Trouble With Henry: Remember how the seer told Rumpelstilskin that a young boy would prove to be his undoing? "It's very interesting what happens with Gold and Henry," Robert Carlyle told The Clicker about the dark one's relationship with his grandson. "Henry's a problem to Gold -- a big problem. A massive problem. Henry's in danger!"

But Horowitz teased at the panel, "Is undoing a bad thing?" Ooooh!

"Racy Lacey": That's how Emilie de Ravin describes her Belle's alter ego in "Lacey." "You learn a lot about my character in episode 19," the actress told The Clicker. In addition to her iconic gold dress, she said, "You'll see a lot of back and forth and learn more about Rumpel-Belle in present day and their back story."

"She's the opposite of Belle," Kitsis said about Lacey. "Things are going to get very interesting for Mr. Gold!"

"Gold's desperate to try to get Belle back obviously and make that right," Carlyle told The Clicker. "He is very close to doing that when Regina really gets in the way. Badly. That really knocks it way, way, way back. And he's almost got to start again with her. It's a real game changer."

"It's just gonna get better and better," Dallas enthused to The Clicker. "This season is ramping up, and it's just gonna keep pushing the envelope. "It's going to go someplace where you don't expect it -- just like in season one.

"This entire run to the end are some of the strongest episodes we've done," added Kitsis and Horowitz. "It's really like a freight train. Gold brought magic in the beginning of the season, and we know magic always has a price. So the finale's about that price."

"Downton Abbey" actress Lesley Nicol is appearing on "Once Upon a Time."

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

Make room for Mrs. Patmore in the world of fairy tales! ABC confirmed that "Downton Abbey" actress Lesley Nicol, better known as the cook on the hit British show, will be appearing on "Once Upon A Time."

Details are scarce about her appearance, but ABC told The Clicker that Nicol's character will have "a special connection to the Snow White family." There's no word yet on an air date, or whether she'll appear in more than one episode.

On Wednesday, "Once" star Josh Dallas, who plays Prince Charming/David, tweeted his enthusiasm over Nicol's involvement on the show. "As a Huge #DowntonAbbey Fan I'm very excited @lesley_nicol is coming to #OnceUponATime!" he wrote.

Nicol tweeted in reply, "I am looking forward to it!! See you all soon."

Giancarlo Esposito talks bad guys, teases big 'Revolution' cliffhanger

    By Susan Hornik, TODAY contributor

If you look in the dictionary under devilishly evil, you might well see a picture of Giancarlo Esposito. In the recent past, the Emmy-nominated actor has gone from one bad-guy role to another, starring in AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” (as the unpredictable meth dealer Gustavo Fring), ABC’s “Once Upon A Time” (as Sidney Glass of Magic Mirror fame) and of course, in his current role as Major Tom Neville in NBC’s post-apocalyptic hit, “Revolution.”

So which sort of role does he really prefer to play — the rare good guys or those wicked ones he's known so well for?

“I love them both!” Esposito told The Clicker. “I think you are good and you are bad, and bad and good, and good and bad! It’s actually been really interesting, especially with Gustavo and now Tom. With each role, I find something that is redeemable but yet I find a new level of darkness.”

Esposito’s favorite evil man? “Breaking Bad’s” Gustavo.

“I feel like he was a bad guy who was in control and had the most intelligence of any character I’ve ever played," the actor explained. "I also felt like he cared about people underneath everything else. He tried to bring people to their best selves — all the chemists that worked for him and all the men that he hired. He had integrity about the way he went about his business.”

Esposito can’t wait to see more from the show that's gone on without him.

“I’m still a huge fan of ‘Breaking Bad’! It’s my favorite show on television!” he said.

Well, next to “Revolution,” of course — which he's particularly excited about.

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

“Are you kidding me?! I am so excited!" Esposito enthused. "We have an absolute fabulous shot to be at the forward-motion part of this new generation of television."

And he wouldn't mind seeing some forward motion for his character the show.

“I would like the Monroe Republic to be the Neville Republic,” he said.

But whether or not that's likely to happen remains a mystery — even to Esposito.

During a Thursday morning visit to TODAY, he admitted the direction of the show is being revealed to him as it comes, and he doesn't really know what the future holds. Although he had one hint to share about the near future.

"I think that there's a big cliffhanger coming which will keep our audience really on the edge of their seats," he teased.

Look for that on the Nov. 26 episode.

"Revolution" airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on NBC.

Jorge Garcia: My 'Once Upon a Time' giant is no dummy

    Katie Yu / ABC

Jorge Garcia plays The Giant of "Jack and the Beanstalk" fame on "Once Upon a Time."

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

Jorge Garcia may be best known for his role as the friendly and lovable Hurley on "Lost," but he's leaving the big guy behind on the island as he heads to the skies for his next huge role -- a giant. The actor is set to appear Sunday on fairy-tale drama "Once Upon a Time" as the gargantuan dude of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" fame (Disney's take on "Jack and the Beanstalk").

But don't expect his giant to be a nice guy.

"Times are a changin', people! Now I'm murderous!" the actor told The Clicker. "Stuff like this is definitely something I've been looking forward to getting to do because of where I've been. ... Playing people who might be a bit more bitter is definitely fun."

The Giant will be facing off against Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) and Capt. Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) as the two make their trek up the famed beanstalk to steal a magic compass from him that could send the two and their gang to Storybrooke. But it's not going to be an easy task. While the giant in the fairy-tale is not exactly the smartest guy, Garcia says his Giant will prove to be a formidable foe.

"(My guy is) much smarter!" Garcia said. " 'Beanstalk' giant has kind of a slow quality to him, not the smartest. This giant seems a lot more together for sure."

And as the behind-the-scenes photo above shows, this new Giant appears to get his hands on one of the intruders.

"I could be holding someone in my hand. The other hand just might be on the Empire State Building!" Garcia joked. "There will be that kind of large hand, little body thing coming up. You'll have to see it."

    Watch on YouTube

Two things you won't be seeing Sunday, though, are The Giant's wife and the hen that lays golden eggs -- both of which were in the original classic tale. But that doesn't mean they might not come up later on "Once."

"Maybe in a month or so," the actor said. He revealed that last week, show creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz called and asked him to do another episode.

Twitter Follow The Clicker on Twitter

Twitter Follow Anna Chan on Twitter

For now, Giant's tale is "a bit introductory, you get a little bit of a taste of where he's coming from," Garcia said. But there will be more soon. "(Kitsis and Horowitz) pitched me a backstory for The Giant, it's a good one. ... They definitely have the inklings as to where it could go. I'm happy to let them unravel the story because what they pitched me was great."

"Once Upon a Time" airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC.

'Once Upon a Time' actor: 'Exciting things are about to happen'

    Jack Rowand / ABC

From left, Marco, Archie, Mother Superior and Dr. Whale stand at the edge of Storybrooke, prepared to leave for good.

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

"Once Upon a Time" ended season one with a big bang, with magic flooding into Storybrooke and all the fairy-tale characters regaining their memories of their lives in the Enchanted Forest. And just like the finale, the new season has kicked off with a ton of action -- and several new faces, something that not all fans have been excited about.

Comments online have suggested that viewers want to see more from the core group of major characters -- and there are plenty, including Snow White, Prince Charming, Red Riding Hood, the Evil Queen and Jiminy Cricket -- not additional folks with their own complicated stories. Especially not when the existing players have such rich histories to draw from.

But worry not, says Raphael Sbarge, who plays Jiminy Cricket in the Enchanted Forest and therapist Archie in Storybrooke.

"I feel very strongly (creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz) are so good at storytelling that they have a bigger plan in store for us. We'll all be very pleased, surprised and delighted by what occurs," Sbarge told The Clicker. "They came at me at the beginning of the season and they said a couple of things. They said, 'Look, we are going to bring in a whole bunch of new characters.' They said, 'Don't worry.' There are episodes where some of our main characters -- like Lana (Parrilla, who plays Regina and the Evil Queen) -- have been in (the show) very little or at all."

Sbarge went on to explain that the new faces -- Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Captain Hook and Smee have all been introduced, and more are on their way -- are helping to fill out the world of "Once Upon a Time." "It creates the microcosm because when we do all come back -- and I promise, we do -- it sort of creates that much more excitement, thrill and familiarity," said Sbarge.

Though Regina was mostly missing from last week's episode, expect to see plenty of her on Sunday when "Once" returns its focus to her. The new episode will show her continued attempts to win back adopted son Henry's heart by avoiding using magic, as well as what looks to be the unpleasant return of Regina's long lost love, Daniel.

"Archie has been trying to reach her and break through to her," Sbarge said of his character's relationship to the queen this season. "Obviously, she's this source of extraordinary evil for all of us."

And being the good guy that Archie is, he's going to continue to urge her to follow the right path.

"There's an encounter in which he's able to connect with the queen," Sbarge teased. "What he's going to do is do his best to try and reach out to a woman who is obviously, in this case, trying to do the right thing because Henry is in the middle. She does love him despite the fact that she is the Evil Queen, and therein lies the conflict in which Archie sees an opportunity."

Sbarge wouldn't say much more about what Archie and Regina might encounter Sunday, but he did indicate that fans can expect to see more of the man who is the conscience.

"I'm still a part of the main core," said Sbarge, who is currently working on episodes 10 and 11. "I'm (doing) these two episodes that will put me in the center of the action."

    Follow @TODAY_Clicker

As for the rest of the season? "There are some pretty exciting things about to happen," he teased. "There are some wonderful, wonderful characters who lie ahead. And the core group is there and will be ready to embrace them once again very soon, for sure. I know that this is again part of a bigger plan to tell a fantastic story."

Return of magic brings bittersweet reunions and big twist on 'Once Upon a Time'

    Kharen Hill / ABC

    By Tierney Bricker, E! Online

All summer we waited for magic, and on Sunday night, it finally came. But like Rumplestiltskin (Robert Carlyle) said, "Magic is different here, dearie."

"Once Upon a Time," ABC's breakout hit which enchanted viewers with new twists on classic fairy-tale characters, returned for its second season with "Broken." And like the season-one finale, it was a total game changer and left us scraping the remnants of our jaws off the floor.

So fire up the yellow Buggy, it's time to go back to Storybrooke...

Check out our Spoiler Chat for the latest TV scoop

(Bitter)sweet reunions: Snow (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Red (Meghan Ory), Snow and her dwarves, all the fairy-tale characters' reunions were sweet, but the one we were waiting for, the one between savior Emma (Jennifer Morrison) and her parents, Snow and Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), was well worth the wait. I mean, did you see Charming's single perfect tear?

But then they finally talk, something Snow had been pushing for all episode and something Emma seems to dread (or needs "a glass of wine and several bottles" to get through). When she points out that Emma doesn't seem too happy about being reunited, Emma reveals that she still resents them for abandoning 28 years ago.

Road to redemption: Though the townspeople want to kill Regina (Lana Parrilla), Emma promises to protect her because Henry (Jared Gilmore) pleads "she's still my mom." (Ugh, kid? Make up your mind.) Thanks to one seriously pissed off Rumple, Regina is targeted by the one thing no one can escape: destiny. Or, you know, a Wraith aka soul-sucker. Once you wear the mark, it won't stop until it damns you for all eternity. Total Buzzkill Bob. To save her, they break out Jefferson's (Sebastian Stan) hat and intend to send the Wraith to a place that no longer exists, as Regina says Fairy-Tale Land was destroyed by the curse.

A Teen Wolf star is joining 'OUAT'!

    Follow @TODAY_Clicker

During the fight with the Wraith, Emma pushes Regina out of harm's way, only to fall into the portal herself. Unwilling to lose her daughter again, Snow jumps in after her. Charming attempts to follow, but is too late as the portal closes. When Charming tries to find out where they are, Regina fights back and almost kills him before a horrified Henry walks in. He refuses to see Regina until she saves his mama and grandmother and is going to stay with grandpa Charming until she does. (Side note: How freakin' cute was it when Henry called David grandpa?!)

Parallel yniverses: In Fairy-Tale Land, we are introduced to Prince Phillip (Pretty Little Liar's Julian Morris) and Mulan (Jamie Chung), who team up to rescue Phillip's beloved Aurora (Sara Bolger). (Anyone else get major Snow and Charming vibes when he used true love's kiss to save her? Memories!) The trio embarks on a journey to safety, but we soon learn Phillip is marked by the Wraith and is going to sacrifice himself to save the two princesses. Twist alert: Mulan is in love with him, too! (Was he in love with her as well? Discuss!)

After tracking down Phillip, Mulan and Aurora helplessly watch as his soul is sucked out by the Wraith and he dies. While this was sad and everything, we couldn't help but wonder what the heck these three had to do with our beloved Storybrooke folks.

Guess which TV good girl is going to the dark side in our blind item

Turns out we were truly foolish to doubt "OUAT's" writing team as this wasn't a flashback to Fairy-Tale Land; it's Fairy-Tale Land in modern day after the curse has been lifted! Yes, this corner of the magical world somehow survived, and it's exactly where Mary Margaret and Emma find themselves at episode's end! Chills, y'all! (Now the countdown until a scene where Prince Charming shouts, "We have to go back!" as a nod to Lost's infamous bearded Jack begins!)

Toying with words: Though he makes a promise to his beloved Belle (Emilie de Ravin) not to kill Regina, Rumplestiltskin never promises not to unleash something into the world that would do the job for him (see: Wraith). "You toy with words, like you do people," Belle accuses before running out when Rumple turns cruel. ("What, in the hour you've known me?" Below the corset, Rumps.) Fret not, Belle and Rumple fans, as she returns later and says she has to stay, to fight off his dark side and prevent him from becoming the "monster" he thinks he is.

A new puzzle: A big mystery in season two is going to be Doctor Whale's (David Anders) fairy-tale identity. David didn't seem to recognize him (You're not my prince," Whale says), nor did anyone else, and Whale wasn't spilling. Who do you think he is? Also, how great was Charming's reaction to Snow's one-night stand with Whale? "We were cursed," is her excuse. Hey, it's true.

Sarah Bolger will play Princess Aurora, and Jamie Chung will be Mulan on "Once Upon a Time."

    By Anna Chan, TODAY

Two more lovely ladies have been drawn into the magical world of ABC's "Once Upon a Time."

EW.com first reported that "Hangover 2" actress Jamie Chung has been cast as Mulan, while TVLine reported "Tudors" beauty Sarah Bolger is joining as Princess Aurora for the drama's second season.

"So excited!!" Chung tweeted about her casting news.

Her character, Hua Mulan, is from an old Chinese poem about a young woman who disguises herself as a man to fight in the army in place of her father. Disney brought the young woman's tale to the big screen with the animated film "Mulan" in 1998. According to EW, the character will likely appear in multiple episodes.

    Follow @TODAY_Clicker

Princess Aurora is also expected to be a recurring character, according to TVLine. Bolger, who played Lady Mary on Showtime's "The Tudors," also tweeted her excitement over the new role. "Aurora here-I-come!!!! Xx," the actress tweeted.

With the addition of Aurora, viewers could also expect to be introduced to her love, the dashing Prince Phillip, if "Once" follows the 1959 Disney animated film's version of the tale. And of course, Sleeping Beauty must prick her finger on the spinning wheel cursed by Maleficent, which will hopefully mean more of Kristin Bauer van Straten! (But Emma did appear to kill Maleficent last season ...) As for bickering fairies Flora, Fauna and Merryweather from the classic film, who knows? Maybe viewers have already had a glimpse of them in season one when various fairies joined the Blue Fairy to help Snow White.

ABC has not yet announced the season two premiere date for "Once Upon a Time," but the show will air on Sundays at 8 p.m.
