Rick Springfield was just happy to be home in time to rock out Friday night. The "Jessie's Girl" singer was arrested at his L.A.-area home Friday morning on a bench warrant issued Wednesday after he missed a court date pertaining to a past DUI bust.

But, it turned out help was just a phone call away!

The L.A. County Sheriff's Department confirmed to E! News that Springfield called his wife, she brought the requisite paperwork to the station to clear up the pressing issue and he ultimately was not booked on any charge.

"My home away from home. Lost hills sheriff station," Springfield later wrote on Facebook, also posting a picture of the station. "Arrested this [a.m.] on a bench warrant. I didn't know that I was supposed appear in court a few weeks ago. It was to do with the old DUI charge and it's been cleared up and i am free to go.

"Thought I might miss the gig tonite but I will be there and we will celebrate together. Life is not boring. XOXO."

Per his website, Springfield was scheduled to play the Eagle Mountain Casino in Porterville, Calif., tonight. He also jammed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Ellen this week with Dave Grohl and the Sound City Players, and all of the above are due in Austin next week for South by Southwest.

Rick Springfield returning to 'General Hospital' -- along with his son

Rick Springfield's Dr. Drake is returning to "GH"!

    By Drusilla Moorhouse, TODAY contributor

For fans of Rick Springfield, this is just what the doctor ordered: The "Jessie's Girl" singer is returning to "General Hospital," reprising his role as Dr. Noah Drake.

Even better, reports People, he'll be joined by his son, Liam Springthorpe. (Springfield was born Richard Springthorpe.) The young actor-musician, who will play an undercover cop, isn't expecting to share scenes with his famous father.

Springfield debuted on the ABC soap opera in 1981 -- the same year "Jessie's Girl" topped the charts and earned him a Grammy award for best male rock vocal performance. Since we last saw Noah Drake in March 2012, Springfield says the good doctor has been "going to Doctors Without Borders and going around the world helping people."

"He lost his wife and became a drunk and regretted all these terrible, sinful ways and then cleaned his act up when he almost died from the alcohol," Springfield told People about the troubled neurosurgeon.

Noah Drake returns to Port Charles in April 2013.

Rick Springfield leads sing-along on NYC subway

    Watch on YouTube
    By Courtney Hazlett, TODAY

When celebrities are spotted on subways, they're usually just going from point A to point B as quietly as possible. The opposite was the case recently with singer and former "General Hospital" heartthrob Rick Springfield.

The man behind "Jessie's Girl" belted that hit and more from some of the city's finest subway platforms for crowds of surprised -- and vocal -- fans. (Check out more videos over at Gothamist.)

Although the sing-alongs appear to be impromptu, they were somewhat planned. Springfield was promoting his new album, "Songs for the End of the World," which was released earlier this week.

The 63-year-old rocker/actor also has a documentary about his fans, "An Affair of the Heart," playing in New York from Oct. 10-16. Check out the trailer below.

Rick Springfield pleads 'no contest' to reckless driving

Rick Springfield can finally put his DUI bust behind him. The 62-year-old "Jessie's Girl" crooner cut a deal in the case Thursday, pleading no contest to a lesser charge of reckless driving "with driving under the influence conditions," according to the Washington Post.

Rick Springfield Pleads Not Guilty to DUI

News of Springfield's plea deal comes a year after the singer-actor was busted in May 2011 on Malibu's Pacific Coast Highway after a cop noticed his 1963 Corvette accelerating quickly, and smelled alcohol on his breath when he pulled him over.

    Celebs hit the courtroom

The former "General Hospital" star later pled not guilty to the charges stemming from that arrest.

Springfield will serve three years probation and is required to attend a three-month alcohol education program.
